1. Snooze

Five more minutes, maybe ten… no maybe twenty. How long does the snooze button last on the alarm? Just keep hitting it.

2. Denial

School is too harsh. There’s never enough time to wake up in the morning. The nights last too long, there’s too much homework, and going to bed before 2am? Forget it. Why do bad things happen to good people?

3. Groaning

Roommates understand the “just woke up” groan, the “trying to roll out of bed” sounds, and the “could fall back asleep if just given a few extra minutes” cry.

4. Debating

Class was probably cancelled, right? There could be an email waiting saying that class was cancelled and maybe even the school shut down for the day. It could be a holiday, going back to bed would be a good idea. Why wake up if class might be cancelled?

5. Acceptance

It’s got to happen sooner or later. Buck up, inhale some cereal, and get going.
