HC: How do you feel about being a campus cutie?
AR: I feel cool. I told my mom and she was like “That’s so cute! I’m going to post it online!” I’ve never won anything. Paige Gallegos: “You won my heart!”
HC: Ultimate celebrity crush and why?
AR: I love Patrick Dempsey from Grey’s Anatomy. He’s handsome and he’s smart and he’s kind and he loves Meredith so much.
HC: Where is your favorite place on campus?
AR: This is going to sound creepy but last year I would always go to the middle of Mt. Clef field and look at the stars.
HC: What is your favorite TV show?
AR: Grey’s Anatomy… by far. It’s the only show that can make me uncontrollably laugh and cry all in one episode.
HC: If you could describe thyself in one word what would it be and why?
AR: Probably sassy because I just have uncontrollable amounts of sass and I can’t reign it in. If I could add being sassy to my resume I would.
HC: What are your deal breakers in a relationship?
AR: Someone who is too controlling over me because you just gotta let Amanda do Amanda and someone who does not understand my sarcastic sense of humor.
HC: What do you look for in a significant other?
AR: Someone who will get me food whenever I’m hungry and someone who understands my sarcasm and someone who is tall preferably with a beard. Make me taquitos. That’s all I ask for.
HC: What is your favorite part about being a PA?
AR: Well I loved working orientation, that was probably one of the best experiences of my life and I love that I get to influence the new students in some way even if they don’t admit it, like I can see little changes in them. It’s a very fulfilling position to have. It makes me happy.
HC: If you could be any animal what would it be and why?
AR: Koala because I’m cute and cuddly and like to sleep.
HC: What is your favorite part of working at Starbucks?
AR: Working with Mackenzie! I like that it’s really fast paced and that I get to meet a ton of people.
HC: Do you have a Starbucks nickname?
AR: I don’t have a Starbucks nickname but the other Amanda and I call ourselves the Amandas and I think I’m Amanda 1 and she’s Amanda 2.
HC: What’s your favorite drink for yourself and to make?
AR: My favorite drink is the Salted Caramel Mocha. I love the taste of toffee, nut, and caramel so it’s perfect. My favorite drink to make is water. I love making that swift water, it’s delicious.
HC: What is your favorite program as a PA?
AR: My favorite program was Playfair. That was really fun because myself and a couple other PAs were the designated people to pump up the crowd and we got to dance horribly for about an hour and half.
HC: What made you want to be a PA?
AR: My PA my first year who was Cody Jones, I saw how happy he made us and I wanted to do the same thing for a group of First Years.
HC: Are you considering continuing that legacy?
AR: Yeah, I am. I have my PA interview Friday.
HC: How do you manage your time?
AR: Ummm… uhh.. I think the biggest part of managing my time is writing everything I have to do on my calendar like if I don’t have the big things I’m supposed to do written down then I’ll forget.
HC: Where’s your favorite place to shop?
AR: Target. Target literally gives me life. I go to Target when I’m happy, when I’m sad, when I want to kill time. You could buy anything you could possibly need from Target. It’s amazing.
HC: What is your most memorable moment at Cal Lu so far?
AR: The first morning of orientation when I was working it as a Peer Advisor and we were up at 4:30 and we were blowing up gold balloons and we were all so excited to be there and it was a really happy memory. #TBT
HC: Do you prefer to be behind the camera or in front of it?
AR: Behind the camera because I like to edit videos, I think it’s really cool.
HC: Dream job?
AR: To be a math teacher and to help bridge the gap between elementary and high school math.
HC: What are your favorite hair care products?
AR: Heat protectant spray because I like to curl my hurr.
HC: What is your favorite season?
AR: Fall. 100% Fall because I finally get to break out my fall outfits and burgundy lipstick.
HC: What are your favorite makeup brands?
AR: I love Kat Von D because I love her liquid eyeliner. That’s how I get the signature Amanda winged eyeliner. Wear it every day. I also love Maybelline mascara.
HC: Work out alone or with a partner?
AR: I don’t work out. Just being real. Keeping it real.
HC: Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
AR: I hope to have a stable job and a family and a husband who makes me taquitos and buys me donuts.
HC: Favorite band or music?
AR: My favorite artist is Taylor Swift because she’s a queen and I really like The Civil Wars.
