What activities are you involved in on campus?
- Media Fellow at UAB Digital Media, a student-powered creative agency on campus
- Colony member of Sigma Kappa sorority at UAB
- Secretary for the Association for Information Systems (AIS), an honors organization in the Collat School of Business
- Business Student Leader (basically an ambassador program for the school of business)
What advice do you have for those who are afraid to live creatively?
“You’ve gotta do you.
There are always going to be people out there who’ll tell you what to do, how to do things, and even worse: that you can’t do things. Creativity is about letting your heart speak and you shouldn’t let others put a damper on that. You need to learn when to say no sometimes and go after what you really want. Critics will always exist but in the end, you are the only one living your life. Live fearlessly and do what makes your heart happy.”
Where do you see yourself in the future?
“There’s a lot of places I’d like to see myself in, but I really just want to be happy, live comfortably, and own a dog.”
What are you looking forward to in 2016?
“2016 is the year I graduate college and start the next chapter in my life. The past 17 years were all scheduled and booked out for school, but now is my time to venture into the unknown and it is so exciting!
My first adventure after graduation is something I’ve always wanted to do: move to France. I’m going to explore Europe and immerse myself with the culture to experience the world differently. When I return to the US I’ll have an international perspective, a third language, and will be ready to tackle on the big adult world and get a big girl job. There’s a possibility that might stay in France forever too- who knows!?”
