Marathon Dreaming

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at SBU chapter.

Name: Katelyn Chiccino

Year: junior

Major: history

Hometown: Shortsville, New York

Her Campus: “What activities are you involved in?”

Katelyn Chiccino: “History Club and Running Club. And I’m training for a marathon right now.”

HC: “Wow, how is training going?”

KC: “It’s time consuming to be training for it but it’s really rewarding. I feel really good about everything going on.”

HC: “Are you on a plan to train?”

KC: “I looked at a lot of plans and made my own plan!”

HC: “How does that work?”

KC: “I run five to six days a week and run about 50 miles within a week with long runs on Friday.”

HC: “Has the weather ruined your training or affected it?”

KC: “No, I love running outside and I have good clothes for it. I hate running inside. I hate it.”

HC: “What day is your marathon?”

KC: “May 29.”

HC: “So how long have you been training for?”

KC: “Since the second week of January!”

HC: “What are your goals?”

KC: “It’s my first one and I just want to see where I’m at and see what happens. I’m really excited because I love running.”
