These days, you can’t go on Instagram/Twitter/Facebook/Tumblr without seeing some great eyebrows. It’s true, we live in a time now where the eyebrows are the centerpiece of the face and with a little time, some Anastasia Beverly Hill’s Brow Wiz, and some tips and tricks you can get the brows that would make even the best MUAs jealous.

You can trust my advice because I have above average eyebrows for a painfully average girl (as seen below)

Dos

Personally, I can’t go out the door without mine due to how light my natural eyebrows are. From having this rare disorder of invisible eyebrows, I’ve had to learn how to make them look the most natural in the shortest amount of time. Here are a few Do’s when it comes to filling in the brows:

  • Go a shade darker than your natural hair color

The darker shade will make your eyebrows pop and add definition and depth to the natural angles of your face.

  • Be sure to blend!

when filling your eyebrows in, it’s important to use an eyebrow brush to blend the color. This is the most important step in creating the fake-natural eyebrow look.

  • Use concealer to make them sharp enough to kill

Use a concealer a shade lighter than your natural skin color on your brow bone, outlining and highlighting your natural arc. The lighter shade will accentuate your eyebrows while also focusing on your eyes as well.

***THERE WILL BE GOOD EYEBROW DAYS AND BAD EYEBROW DAYS.***

It’s okay, it happens to the best of us, even A-List actress, Angelina Jolie.

Don’ts

  • Don’t use eyeliner or eyeshadow as a filler substitute

Do not use eyeliner or eyeshadow on your eyebrows, you should use eyebrow specific products. It can be very harsh or possibly sparkly depending on the shade of eyeshadow and angle of the sun and nobody wants Edward Cullen eyebrows. Invest in some Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Pomade or Brow Wiz, it will quite literally change your life.

  • Don’t over tweeze your eyebrows

Let those babies grow! Over Tweezing is the number one killer of perfect eyebrows. If I never found those damned tweezers in my mom’s makeup, I’d have Cara Delevingne eyebrows by now. Coconut oil helps hair growth so every night before bed, I rub coconut oil on my brows and I can really see the difference in my natural brows from a year ago to today.

  • Don’t forget to take a selfie

Last but not least, don’t forget to document your good eyebrow day with a selfie for Instagram, Twitter, or a couple weeks later when you want to reminisce on that day you had really good eyebrows. Let the whole world see that you’ve graduated from Eyebrow High School and are on your way to a degree in Browology at Brown University (ha, get it).

It takes practice and time and a lot of bad eyebrow days to get to eyebrow nirvana. I didn’t have nice eyebrows when I started filling them in, no one does. To make you feel better (and embarass myself) here’s a picture of what my eyebrows used to look like.

You have to work through the bad brow days to appreciate the good ones.

If you keep trying and power through those bad brow days, you’ll soon reach legendary Cara Delevingne brow status, a level we can all aspire to reach.
