Spring has SPRUNG: Favorite Places in Iowa City

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at U Iowa chapter.

Well, it’s that time of year again. The flowers are blooming, 30-degree days are becoming rarer, and the upper 60s are starting to reappear. The tests and papers are accumulating, and the countdown to summer has officially begun. It’s SPRING TIME!

Spring is great, but let’s be honest: there is nothing like springtime in Iowa City. Iowa City is one city that is beautiful in every season but especially in the spring. The streets are always full, the flowers are bright, the restaraunts have outside patios running with lots of drink specials, and the Pentacrest is filled with students playing catch or studying. The atmosphere is so cheery, and it makes it that much easier to finish the semester strong. Here are a few of the best spots in Iowa City in the spring.

Pentacrest

Duh, this is the main place to hang outside with all your homies. Go find a frisby and have some fun.

Patios

Bo James, Pancheros, Atlas, Starbucks, Giovannis, Java House. Whatever you’re itching for, more than likely it’ll have an outdoor patio to enjoy your food in the beautiful weather.

Art Building West

This hidden gem is the perfect place to enjoy beautiful scenery while studying. Check it out now before everyone else finds out about it!

The ball field

Spring is a great time to catch a softball or baseball game. The fields are beautiful, and there’s nothing better than supporting fellow Hawkeyes.

College Green Park

Right east of downtown is this little park with a gazebo. A perfect place to read a book or start a game of pickup basketball.

Whether you are looking to grab something to eat or a nice spot to study outdoors this spring, these are all great places. What are your favorite places on campus this spring?

Happy Spring!
