Have you ever wanted to get to know the gals behind Her Campus Millersville? Now’s your opportunity! Meet Ashley Haywood, our fabulous secretary and fellow #bosslady!
Name:Â Ashley Haywood
Age: 22
Birthday:Â February 2nd, 1994
Year: Senior (finally)!
Hometown: Virginia Beach, Virginia
Major:Â English
Why did you pick your major?
English was always my favorite subject in school and I failed math twice
Why did you pick Millersville University?
I originally didn’t even want to go to Millersville, I went to Bloomsburg first. But my first semester there was less than fun and I missed my family a lot so I decided to come back and give MU a try. Now I wish I picked going here from the start!
As a Her Campus member, why do you love Her Campus?
I love the connections I’ve made with all the girls and the lasting friendships. Every girl is so supportive and genuine and I think that’s something everyone needs in a friend group! My MU Her Campus girls are seriously the best group of girls anyone could have as friends!
Â
How do you hope Her Campus will help your future?
I’m hoping that I can use the communication skills I’ve learned to my advantage. I used to be so shy but now I can talk to almost anyone with no problem!
What advice do you have for future students at Millersville University?
Get involved in clubs! Whether that be Her Campus, a sorority or fraternity, or any other club that sparks your interest, do it. You make so many friends and it makes transitioning as a freshman so much easier. You also get involved in events on campus which also gets you more involved with the university.Â
How do you stay organized?
My Lilly Pulitzer planner. I don’t know where I’d be with out it. Also I keep a lot of notes, reminders, and calendar events in my phone juuuuust in case I can’t grab my planner right away.Â
If you had to pick a favorite professor, who would it be? Why?
Dr. Carla Rineer. I’ve had her for two classes and I think she’s a fantastic professor. You learn so much from her and she really challenges you to think and participate in class discussions (even if I’m not a pro at doing that). She’s also hilarious, so that helps too!Â
What is your life quote?
“It is what it is.”
If you were a crayon, what color would you be?
Oh God, there’s too many colors to pick! Maybe coral… Or gold… Or pink?Â
If you were stranded on an island, what/who would you take with you? Name 3 things.
Sunblock, a genie, and a Dunkin Donuts.Â
