Fall has finally arrived, carrying with it flavors of pumpkin spice and the sound of crunching leaves.  But even more exciting – all of the new beauty trends being introduced this season! Here’s a list of essential styles and products that are in right now.

Moisturizer

Now that the air is getting cooler and dryer, it’s so much more important to moisturize!  Find a moisturizer that’ll work for your skin and apply it both before bed and when you first wake up. Look for a moisturizer with a SPF because even though you may be outside less, you can still get burned as your summer tan begins to fade. Moisturizer will help your skin make the transition between seasons. Also, start applying a super moisturizing lip balm, like Blistex or Carmex, to help keep your lips from getting chapped as it gets colder! Also, don’t forget to pick up your favorite fall-scented Bath and Body Works lotion to treat yourself to an aromatic experience while moisturizing your skin.

Check out these affordable productions, recommended by professionals:

  • Purpose Dual Treatment Moisture Lotion with SPF 15 – $8.00
  • Neutrogena Oil-Free Moisturizer with SPF 15 – $11.00

Glitter

This September at NYFW we saw a whole lot of glitter!  A popular look is gold glitter on the eyelid, which looks fabulous! A gold lid combined with the classic smoky eye makes for a very badass look. But don’t just limit yourself to gold glitter. We are also seeing blue, pink, silver and green, among other colors. It’s not just limited to the eyelid. It is being used to highlight the brow bone, under the eye and in the inner corner over eyes as a highlight.  Go crazy, glitter is in!

Check out these awesome glitter products:

  • NYX Candy Glitter Liners – $4.29
  • BareMinerals High Shine Eye Color – $16.00
  • Make Up For Ever Diamond Powders – $24.00

A Dark Lip

A dark lip is one of my personal favorites right now, as I love the color burgundy. While girls have always worn darker lipsticks in the fall, this year’s trend has brought down the shade even more, almost to a goth level! The darkness of the lip varies quite a bit, as some are nearer to black, while others are light enough to be considered a deep red. These lips are usually seen in a semi-matte or glossy sheen shade and are paired with nude eye makeup.

Check out these awesome dark lip products:

  • Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in Va Va Violet – $8.00
  • Smashbox Be Legendary Cream Lipstick in Witchy – $21.00
  • Lime Crime Velvetines Liquid Matte Lipstick in Bloodmoon or Raven – $20.00
  • Nyx Soft Matte Lip Creme in Transylvania – $5.99

Smudged Liner Look

In contrast to the nude eye paired with the dark lip, smudged eyeliner is also in right now! This look is so versatile and simple. The smudged liner look is commonly paired with a nude lip. Not only is this look super quick and easy, but it also gives the makeup artist plenty of room to decide what kind of look they want. The eyeliner look can be paired with either a nude eyeshadow or no eyeshadow at all!  We’ve also noticed glossy, wet-looking eyelids with this look.

Check out these lovely liners:

  • Maybelline New York Eye Studio Lasting Drama Gel Eyeliner in Blackest Black – $8.54
  • Kat Von D Tattoo Liner – $20.00
  • Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Perversion – $20.00

Natural Skin and Natural Brows

Natural looking skin is the look right now. The more minimal, the better. A dewy complexion with light blush and a natural highlight gives the wearer an appearance of natural beauty and innocence. Contouring is also no longer in! It’s all about natural beauty this season, so the less photoshopped, the better. But don’t worry, concealer isn’t going out of style any time soon! We’ve noticed a lot of those NYFW models bearing natural, thick brows on the runway, so feel free to skip a few weeks of plucking and let those puppies grow in.

Check out these natural looking foundations:

  • Covergirl Clean Liquid Foundation – $6.99
  • Revlon ColorStay Makeup for Combination/Oily Skin – $12.99
  • Smashbox Camera Ready BB Cream – $39.00

Peach Eyeshadow

A lovely look that has been spotted on runways this fall is peach eyeshadow. Commonly referred to as a spring color, peach is now making its way into fall. Wear it by itself, with no eyeliner and a little bit of mascara. This look is perfect for casual days where you don’t want to wear a ton of makeup or if you’re in a rush. Quick and simple, this makeup look can be pulled off by anyone!

Check out these peach eyeshadows:

  • Too Faced Sweet Peach Eyeshadow Collection – $49.00
  • Makeup Geek eyeshadow pans in Sorbet, Mango Tango, Frappe, and Cupcake – $6.00 Each

Stained Lip Look

A “stained red” lip is so in this season. This look is great for those of us who are horrible at putting our lipstick on straight.  All you need to do is put some red lipstick in the center of your lips, and then drag it outward like a stain.  This is another super versatile trend because you can choose where you want the most pigment to be.

Check out these red lipsticks and lip stains:

  • Laura Mercier Lip Stain – $20.00
  • Revlon ColorStay Moisture Stain – $9.99
  • NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Cruella – $26.00
  • M.A.C. Lipstick in Ruby Woo – $17.00
