Thanksgiving is such a wonderful holiday. There is no religious stigma attached to is so anyone and everyone can celebrate it. It’s a great time for family and friends to come together. It’s a very versatile holiday because people tend to celebrate Thanksgiving in so many different ways, Here are a few easy traditions to start or continue with family and friends!
Enjoy a family breakfast
This is an easy way to relax before all of the chaos begins and your extended family shows up. My family’s tradition is biscuits, scrambled eggs and ham steak. It’s a nice way to take in the day without getting too crazy.
Watching the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade or the The National Dog Show
The Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade is so lively and spirited and it’s celebrating its 90-year anniversary this year. The parade is always interesting and it’s fun to see the new floats and performers. Don’t miss the National Dog Show that follows the parade, because who doesn’t love to watch a bunch of cute dogs on tv?
Write “Thank You Notes”
I know my family would love to hear a thank you from me on this holiday. Write friends and family a thank you note telling them why you’re so grateful for them. This tradition could easily make someone’s day.
Cook something with your family
This can be a fun hands-on learning experience for you. The food will be done faster because your parents won’t have to do all of the work themselves and you’re guaranteed to learn a few things.
Host a friendsgiving
It doesn’t have to be expensive to host a Friendsgiving (knowing most of us who participate are broke college students). It’ll be nice to reunite with the friends you haven’t seen in three months because you are all away at school. Pick a night, cook some food, and catch up on all of the gossip going on in each other’s lives.
