Finally, it’s the week we’ve all been waiting for, spring break is finally here! After all the midterms, most of you are probably on the edge of your seat and ready for an adventure to clear your mind from studying and consuming everything that is calss at The New School. However, not all of us are leaving New York City. If you aren’t traveling to a tropical island or a warmer state, don’t worry, there are still many attractions to explore and plenty of things to do.

Catch Up On Sleep!

First and foremost, sleep. After all those late nights where you had to stay up studying and pulling all-nighters. Say goodbye to society for a week and say hello to your cozy bed. The best part of a break is not having to set your alarm. You can get up at whatever hour you please, so get ready to sleep like a baby.

Watch a Broadway Show

Take a night off, get dressed up, and become a part of the New York Theatre scene. There’s so much talent and so many stories to uncover. Timeout recommends “Sunday in the Park with George” starring Jake Gyllenhaal and Annaleigh Ashford. There are numerous sites to purchase tickets at affordable prices. The New School also provides the students with great discounts to watch Broadway shows as well as many other events, just one of the many perks of being a college student.

Visit a Nearby City

I love New York, but sometimes, it’s nice to get away. Luckily there are several amazing nearby locations that are worth the visit. New Haven, home of Yale University and a major art scene, is a great place to checkout as well Philadelphia or Boston.

The Dump! Open Mic Storytelling Show

Even though this event occurs after the break, you should definitely check it out. It takes place on March 28 at 10-93 Jackson Ave. This the perfect place to let out those funny, embarrassing tales to a room full of people whom are also sharing their humiliating stories. There are no judgements here.
