There is a new food trend emerging for all of you Instagrammers out there! Over spring break, I visited 0 Degree Thai Ice Cream in Middletown, Connecticut (and luckily for Bentley students, there is a Thai ice cream store in Allston, Massachusetts).

It’s a thrilling experience seeing a somewhat complicated dessert made right in front of you. You start by picking a flavor from a long list. The ice cream flavors have creative names such as Monkey Business (banana and Nutella), Cookie Monster (Oreo), S’more Galore (chocolate and graham crackers), and Ain’t Got No Thai Fo’Dat (Thai ice tea with condensed milk). Once you have picked the ice cream, the chef begins the show by pouring skim milk on a rounded, cooled surface. From there, they prepare the ice cream by chopping up the toppings. When they’ve finished, they roll the ice cream. Once the ice cream is rolled, you can pick from another extensive list of toppings which sit perfectly on top of the rolled ice cream.

The ice cream may look different than the scooped ice cream you are used to, but it tastes the same! Plus, you are able to watch a show of the ice cream being made and try a new food that you can Instagram and Snapchat! All of your friends will be eager to know exactly what you are getting.

Check out Hi H3ar, in Allston, Massachusetts to try your first cup of rolled Thai ice cream!
