Self-Care Tips to Help You Stay Healthy and Happy during Exams

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at CU Boulder chapter.

With Midterms coming up and all the cramming you’re about to do, it’s important to remember self care! Here are some quick and easy self care ideas to work into your hectic study schedule!

Face Masks

Keep your skin healthy and clear! Stress can be pretty harsh to your skin, whether it be bags under your eyes or acne. You gotta show off your natural glow, girl!

Take a snack break

No, your cup of coffee does not count. Treat yo self! You can have a bowl of fruit, order some insomnia cookies, or make a mug cake. No one is judging you! Just try to avoid heavy foods like pasta or burgers because they tend to make you tired.

Organize your desk

Studies have shown that organizing and cleaning actually helps de-stress. It will be a lot easier to study if your desk is organized and clean. Clear desk, clear mind!

Paint your nails

Super simple and cute. Painting your nails gives your mind a break and you can start using fall colors like maroon and mauve!

Listen to music

Make a playlist of songs that you know make you feel good! Have a jam session and dance around your room! The songs can help restore your energy and motivation so you can get back to studying.

Facetime a friend

Rant about how stressed you are about exams or just tell them about your day. Gossip, talk about the show you’re binge watching on netflix or remind them that you love them. Hours of studying alone can be a lot on your brain so it’s nice to have some social interaction and talk to someone. It really doesn’t matter what about.
