  1. Eyeliner
    1. Liquid liner can be helpful to create sharp lines for a look such as POP art.
    2. Creamy eyeliners are great for smudging and creating a skull look.
  2. Colorful eyeshadow
    1. Eyeshadow can be used as accents for most Halloween looks, like mermaid makeup or even a unicorn.
  3. Light foundation
    1. It is a must when being a character such as Wednesday Adams or Beetlejuice. You can buy a cheap foundation from E.L.F. or Wet N Wild.
  4. Dark contour powder
    1. Contour powder can make or break a vampire costume.  The drugstore has many options to choose from.
  5. Glitter, because WHY NOT?
  6. Hair ties & bobby pins
    1. A hairstyle plus makeup can be a costume of its own: two buns can turn into a panda, or a crown braid for a milkmaid.
  7. Makeup sponge & brushes
    1. It does not seem like a big deal, but when doing Halloween makeup your brushes and sponges may get stained. Buy a few cheaper items so it wouldn’t be such a waste if you had to throw them away.
  8. Headbands: floral or with animal ears
    1. Pair with some basic clothing items you most likely already own, and you have your costume. A dress, with a floral headband and colorful makeup will give you a fairy costume.
  9. Basic clothing items such as a white button-down, LBD, high-rise jeans etc. Here are some ideas, think outside the box and look inside of your closet. For example: for Velma, you’ll need some frames, an orange turtleneck and red skirt, and a short red bob wig and for Shaggy, wear a baggy green shirt, brown pants.
  10. A positive attitude; do not slut-shame, do not be racist, and do not harass anyone.
