Breaking News: Zara’s Sister Store Has Just Launched In America

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Emory chapter.

Zara fans, listen up!  I’ve got a new store for you. Zara’s European sister store has just launched a three-month pop-up shop in New York City and fashion mavens are going totally crazy over it. It’s no surprise that millennials love fast fashion: from its low price to its of the moment styles, this craze is trending more fashionable than the Juicy Couture Sweatsuit. For all of you 90’s babies, I hope you know what I’m talking about. Zara has completely disrupted, defied, and dominated the American market, expertly capturing both the older millennial and baby boomer consumer who is looking for quality, in-trend items at a value. While Zara’s sister store is already well-established in Europe, it was only a matter of time that it tapped into and capitalized on the younger American consumer – those who want to be ahead of the fashion calendar at an even more affordable price. Now, if you’re not yet officially dying to know the name of this store, I promise you that you’re going to want to keep reading. So, take a quick break, grab a snack and coffee, and come back with pure passion and eager excitement!

Will the real Zara please stand up? It’s time to introduce your sister: Hello Bershka, let’s get to know you. Innovative, fashion-forward and cutting-edge are just a few of the buzz words that represent what this store is all about. To reflect its cool vibe, the debut of its New York City pop-up shop – which coincides with the landing of its website in America – was celebrated with performances from Willow Smith, DJs Mia Moretti and Jubilee and Italian Artist Fedez. If you love music, are a social media addict and live for the latest technology, this brand is made for you. Bershka emphasizes creativity and encourages its customers to step out of their comfort zone to express themselves through fashion.

Mid-article disclaimer: I questioned myself whether or not I should write this article, as I selfishly wanted to be the only one who knew about Bershka; however, after careful thought and out of the goodness of my fashion heart, I decided to share this hidden gem with you. Yes, you are very welcome.

So, ladies and gents, what are my top three picks? I carefully selected items that are similar to those I admire from more expensive brands to show how you can find the styles you love at a major discount.

The everyday, fashion backpack is huge right now, and you don’t want to miss out. Get the same look for your buck with Bershka’s $30 version of Mansur Gavriel’s $895 leather backpack.

The brand caters towards women of all ages, with its Bershka label attached to those styles that are fresh off the runway,  what’s “in” at the moment – and its BSK label supporting specific interests of its younger customers. Boys, don’t turn away yet, it has you covered with everything from trendy jeans to staple sportswear. Bershka has just dappled its feet in US waters. It is only the beginning, and I cannot wait to see what else it has to offer!
