Spring is here and so is the need to clean out the gloomy winter aspects and replace them with the blooming brightness of the springtime. Here are some ways to refresh your style by revamping and cleaning out some of the clutter in your life.

A bed is a focal point in a room because it takes up the most space. This means that when someone enters a bedroom, their eyes will likely be drawn to the bed, and that can set the atmosphere of the rest of the room. Since it is Spring, switch up your bedding for brighter colors like pastels and whites. These colors will make your room seem much brighter and more open.

Another thing that people first notice when they step into a room is the smell. To emulate that spring feeling, try and aim for flowery scented candles. Whether the scent is a calming lavender or a fruity peach, this helps to bring the spring element into your room.

As the school year goes on, desks can become increasingly messy. A way to organize the mess on your desk is to invest in some desk organizers. Help keep your notebooks tidy by placing them in magazine files and storing them on top of your desk. If you need a little more space on your desk, invest in little desk shelves to elevate your pens and pencil. This allows for more desktop space to work on.

Spring is also the time to clean out your closet. Let’s face it: there are some clothes in our closets that we don’t even remember buying. This is a good time to sort through what clothes you still like and which ones you don’t. A good rule of thumb is that if you can’t remember the last time you wore it, get rid of it. Hand down your clothes to a friend or family member that you think might like it, or donate them to your local Goodwill or shelter.

One of the things that we usually overlook is all the files on our computers that we don’t need anymore. Take the time during the break to look at what is on your computer and phone to see what you don’t need anymore. Not only will this satisfy you by deleting the things that you’ve been holding on to, but it will also free up some storage and hopefully get rid of the annoying ‘Full Storage’ message.

These are just a few ways to clean for spring! I hope these ideas make your life feel a little more refreshed. Happy spring cleaning!
