3 Ways to Get Back In the Swing of Things

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UNCG chapter.

Summer break is always welcomed with open arms, but sometimes we’re sad to see it go, or we’re just plain tired of the heat. Here are a few ways to get ready for fall and all the great little things that come with it…like sweater weather, yay!

1. Sit down and reflect on the goals you want to accomplish: Knowing what you can and want to do can help you be much more productive this fall semester. It’s always great to go into the school year with a plan. I don’t know about you, but as a senior just “winging it” won’t cut it anymore! You can create a semester-long plan detailing the grades you’re aiming for, life changes you want to make, and of course important dates that will quickly be approaching.

2. Invest in your wardrobe: Fall weather is a little tricky and will most definitely require a few staple pieces that will keep you stylish and warm. While we’re battling the weather, it’s important to have things like comfy socks, warm pullovers, and of course all the sweaters. So get on Pinterest, shop local thrift stores, or splurge on a shopping spree and see what you can find. I personally get more done when I feel stylish since I feel like I can conquer the world!

3. Rearrange, redecorate, or reorganize: I always love a good excuse to decorate, and a change in season is the perfect one. Your environment reflects your productivity, and as a college student you want to be able to find your belongings and you never want to feel like your space is hindering your study process. So if you’re feeling stagnant and unproductive, your surroundings may be the reason why. Some good pieces to update with during the fall are string lights, soft throw blankets, and décor such as fall flowers and leaves.
