1. Scarowinds
Scarowinds is one of the most popular things to do in our area around Halloween. All the same rollercoasters and thrillers as an amusement park combined with the spook of haunted houses and frightful characters. Located about 20 minutes away from Winthrop University, this is by far one of the most fun places to visit for the fall!
2. The Glow: Jack O’ Lantern Experience
From October 4th to October 28th at Charlotte Motor Speedway, you can experience one of the most magical, fall-filled nights of your life! The Glow is a trail along the speedway lined with intricately carved pumpkins, lights, food and more! This is a Halloween wonderland.
3. Movie in the Woods: Hocus Pocus
Hocus Pocus is arguable one of the best Halloween movies of all time. What could possibly be better than watching this gem in the middle of a spooky forest in Charlotte, NC? Starting at 6 pm on October 13 outside of Cabarrus Arena & Events Center, you can wrap up in your blankets, gather around the fire, and get ready for one of the best Halloween movie-watching experiences out there.
4. Apple Harvest Festival
The Apple Harvest Festival in York, SC is the epitome of a fall festival. With hay rides, pumpkin picking, cider making, and more, you cannot go wrong with this hometown festival, and it is only 20 minutes from Winthrop!
