There are many things students do to kill time on the long commute to school. Some decide to catch up on their precious sleep, whereas others decide to tune out the world through music. 1. Duolingo
Yes, everyone knows the “meme” of the Duolingo owl bugging you to practice your conjugations, but let’s be real. If you’re already on a super long bus trip to school, why not take the time to learn a language while you’re at it? Heck knows if you don’t do it any other time the Duolingo owl will keep bugging you anyways so it’s a win-win.
2. Kami 2
Kami 2 is the second version of the popular paper-folding puzzle game Kami. The objective of Kami 2 is to fill the whole screen with one colour. The catch is that you only have a specific amount of moves to get through the puzzle. Although the most helpful part of Kami is that it gives you exactly enough moves to complete the puzzle, no more, no less. The game starts off easy and quite forgiving, but in later levels, it will really challenge your puzzle solving skills. It’s definitely something that will keep you occupied or even frustrated.
3. Calculator: The Game
This game is similar to Kami in a sense where you have to complete a puzzle in a certain number of moves. Instead, you must try to get a certain number on the calculator with the limited buttons the level presents. This is really fun even if you don’t like math as most of the time it requires simple, or no math at all to cleverly solve these puzzles. It will definitely be a brain teaser to help wake up your brain.
4. Flipflop Solitaire
Flipflop Solitaire puts a new spin to our beloved classic: Spider Solitaire. Instead of following the normal rules of solitaire, it breaks all rules. You can stack up, and down, or even both ways. So you can even come up with stacks that look like this: 5,6,7,8,7,6,5. It’s definitely more fun, and a silly way to play Spider Solitaire.
5. Crossy Road
A less puzzle-like game, Crossy Road is just a fun little game to see how far you can get with your character across roads, lakes, and even train tracks. Sure it won’t stimulate your brain as much as the puzzle games, but it will definitely wake your brain up.
