New Semester, New You

This article is to offer you a bit of inspiration, motivation, and a few tips for this semester.

This is a new semester and anything is possible. This semester is going to be amazing because you are amazing. You are brilliant. This is not a semester of quitters, it is the semester of getting things done. I perceive a bunch of goals being met.

I personally hate the part of our culture that states “in order to succeed you must be overworked.” There will be early mornings and sleepless nights. There will be red bull and coffee. Every ounce of effort you put into school will help you.

Here are a few tips to help you kick this semesters butt;

1. Invest in a planner/ bullet journal:

Planners help to ensure you are on time and organized.

Bullet journaling is a planner on steroids. These bad boys can hold anything from weekly assignments and tasks, to shopping lists and a track of the books you’ve read. They are amazing.

2. Sleep:

You got to know when it’s time to fold. My cut off time is 2 a.m. If whatever it is isn’t done by two, its most likely not getting done. I start to get tired at 2 a.m. and I know any work done after that will be junk so I head off to bed. It is important to sleep.

3. Limit the caffeine:

I know, college kids thrive on caffeine. Trying to get a coffee out of my hands when I’m tired is like pulling teeth. It’s important not to overdo it. Caffeine is quite addictive.

4. Drink some water:

You are basically a more complex and sentient house plant. Drink some water.

5. Take a breath:

Remember to always take a breather when needed.

You’ve done it before and you can do it again. Go make this semester yours!
