Easy 5 Step Productive and Healthy Morning Routine

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Bryant chapter.

Need help starting off your day the right way? Having a good morning routine can set the tone for your day, and as college students, we don’t have time to be lazy. Incorporating some of these things into your morning routine could help get your day to begin on the right note.

Work Out

Ugh yes, I know, the gym can be scary to most people; however, starting off your day with a work out fills your body with those “happy” endorphins. Going on even a light jog or walk will wake you up and set the tone of your day. Not only is it good for your body, but it is also good for the mind and soul. While working out listen to your favorite podcast or music. Ariana Grande’s new album will for sure guarantee a boss workout.

Eat a Nutritious Breakfast

After that workout you are going to need to feed your body with nutrients. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day and making time to feed your body will help with your level of energy and productiveness throughout the day! Salmo is a great resource for healthy breakfast, believe it or not. They offer egg whites at the omelet bar and fresh fruit in the back. However, there are many things that you can make from your dorm. For example, oatmeal can be made in your microwave, and it is a very filling meal. Whether it’s a big or small breakfast, make sure to fill your body with good food!

Get Ready

It may seem vague but getting yourself ready in the morning is a great way to start your day. No matter how early your class is, try and make time to get yourself together. This doesn’t mean you have to put on a ton of makeup. This can include showering, washing your face, styling your hair, picking out your outfit etc. Avoid rolling out of your bed and just going to class. Make yourself look good so you can feel good.

Make Your Bed

Making your bed in the morning requires effort, and this can set the tone for your day. If you come back to a messy bed, then you’re going to feel like you need to get it together. Spending no more than five minutes in the morning to make your bed can allow you to feel as though your life is a little bit more put together. Also, this can wake you up a little bit and get you moving if you are struggling to get along.

Schedule Your Day

Lastly, make a “to-do” list either in your planner or even on a piece of paper. Laying out all your tasks for the day will allow you to be more motivated. This is because you will be aware of when you have commitments and when you have free time to relax. Overall, planning out your day is a productive way to tackle the day because you will be more aware of what you must accomplish!
