You Might Be Pretty, but are You Beautiful?

This article is for anyone who has ever felt self-conscious about their looks in one way or anotherJ

Iām short, chubby, and donāt have many common qualifications to be considered āprettyā by most standards. I donāt have guys rushing up to get my number. No secret admirer has ever fallen in love with me from afar. I donāt think many people take a second glance after seeing me. And sometimes I get down about that. But then I remember I might not exactly be pretty, but I know for a FACT that I am beautiful. Here are five non-superficial ways to be beautiful every single day.
Ā
1. BE KIND
- give compliments to strangers
- smile and make eye contact to people you donāt know
- make someone feel about themselves the way you feel when someone random is nice to you
Ā
2. BE CONFIDENT
- own who you are!
- self love baby
- your confidence will rub off on the people youāre around
- others will notice your confidence glow
Ā
3. RADIATE POSITIVITY
- focus on the good in every situation
- keep your words and actions positive
- support and encourage those around you
Ā
4. BE HONEST
- transparency shows you are genuine
- the truth is never the wrong answer (unless itās unnecessary and possibly hurtful)
Ā
5. ACT EMPATHETICALLY- The Golden Rule
- Consider how your actions affect others
- Put yourself in someone elseās shoes before you say or do something
- Act in a way that distributes only happiness
- āTreat Others the Way You Want to be Treatedā

These five things are not absolute. I am constantly working to be a better person and love myself more every day. I know, though, that with each good deed and kind word or action, I am showing the world how beautiful I really am.
Ā
I invite you to do the same.
