Women in tech is an extremely broad and important topic that deserves on-going conversation as organizations strive to emphasize diversity and inclusion. As a long-since marginalized group, advocating for the importance of women’s contribution in tech is a need that the industry recognizes as companies actively attempt to change that commonality.
To celebrate this year’s International Women’s Day, students will come together for the Women in Tech Power Panel Wednesday, March 6th at 7:00 pm to hear from a panel of highly influential women working in the tech industry. The event is entirely free to students and will take place at none other than KW’s Hub of technology, Communitech.
Organized by students, for students, the event will showcase several women in a variety of roles – both technical and non-technical – from companies that range from start-ups to corporate enterprises. Through a Q&A panel, these women will share their experience of breaking into the industry, the impact they have had, and the challenges they have overcome along the way. The goal is to liberate students to disregard stereotypes and take the risks that are necessary to accomplish their goals.
Not only will you have a chance to learn from and connect with these women, but you will also be submerged in motivating energy. What better way to welcome spring again after the weeks of bitter cold and lethargy we’ve experienced this winter term?
