Self Care Through Subscription Boxes

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UK chapter.

Self-care through subscription boxes

College can be stressful and exhausting, especially if you don’t make time to take care of yourself.

I have rekindled my love for makeup in the last month or two as a way to show myself some love and self-care, and while I’m not one for retail therapy, I decided to subscribe to a monthly beauty box called BoxyCharm.

BoxyCharm is a subscription box where you get four to five full-size beauty products (valued at at least $125) for $25 a month. Of course, there are upgrades and add-ons but the base price for the four to five products stays at $25 plus tax every month.

I have loved everything I’ve gotten in BoxyCharm so far, and it has helped me get out of my little makeup bubble and try new products that I now use in my everyday routine.

However, subscription boxes aren’t just limited to beauty products. There are tons of different boxes with different themes for just about anything you could want.

While I’m a bit of a cheapskate and just now getting better at self-care, I would definitely recommend finding one for you that isn’t badly priced and just try it for one month. It’s important to make time for yourself, and when unboxing whatever box your choose it gives you some time to enjoy what you love.
