Anxiety is something that, unfortunately, many of us are all too familiar with. Whether it be because of classes, family issues, a fight with your best friend, or trying to figure out if the person you like has a crush on you too, anxiety can sometimes be too much to handle. These suggestions will hopefully be able to help you reset and relax just like they have helped me!

Read Inspirational Quotes

One of my personal favorite things to do when I’m stressed is to read quotes that remind me that my stress is a temporary thing. I highly recommend making a Pinterest board filled with numerous quotes and reminders so that when you’re feeling anxious you can easily pull it up.

Breathe

A lot of times when people feel stressed they forget the importance of deep breathing. Not to mention focusing your attention on your breath is a nice distraction from anxious feelings. Take three deep breaths and assess how you feel.

Identify What is Stressing You Out and Try to Remove it

If your stress is something that you can change, then you should absolutely do it. Maybe it’s a three-page paper or meeting with a new person, just get it out of the way. If it’s not something that can be taken care of, then remember not to stress about it too far in advance.

Take a Nap

Sometimes you just need an escape and a nap also helps you rest your mind from overthinking. Just curl up in your cozy bed and take a half-hour snooze. When you wake up hopefully you feel ready to face your stress head-on!

Read a Book

Another way to escape is to read a book and dive into a different world. You can choose what kind of book you want based on how you want it to make you feel. Maybe opt for a happy book to distract you from your stress.

If none of these helped then hey, a least you forgot about your stress while reading this article!
