Another February, another Valentine’s Day. For some, the holiday may be a dream come true or a total nightmare. . But perhaps you are looking at Valentine’s Day all wrong. Yes, Valentine’s Day is a day to celebrate love. However, just because you may not be “bood up” does not mean you cannot celebrate love. SELF-LOVE, that is! Below are some awesome ideas to help you “Treat yo-self” this February 14 no matter what your relationship status is.

Go see a movie.

Okay, this one’s kind of basic but Valentine’s Day simply cannot be passed by without watching at least one romantic film. This year, The Photograph starring Issa Rae and Lakeith Stanfield is making its debut on Valentine’s Day itself. But some of my personal favorites are The Notebook and Southside With You.

Get your nails done.

Getting your nails done always feels great, but Valentine’s Day is a great excuse to treat yourself with a trip to the salon. Take a fitness class

This one may sound a little weird, but I promise it will make you feel amazing this Valentine’s Day: Take a fitness class! I know the gym may not be the place you want to spend Valentine’s Day, but how about grabbing a few friends and heading to a Zumba or Yoga class this year. This is a great way to not ruin your workout regimen Valentine’s Day weekend and show your body some self-love and attention. At St. John’s we have a whole fitness studio available for us to attend all sorts of cool classes. There is something for everyone. Check out Campus Rec’s Instagram where you can find more information and the schedule for classes this semester. You never know, you may find a new favorite way to workout…
