Hey y’all

So they say it’s a pandemic, this COVID-19, that seems to be rapidly spreading like the common cold in an elementary classroom. One second it’s little Mike, next it’s the whole class. As I’m here at college, sometimes it can be hard to always keep up with the news. But last week I got a text from my mom, ya know just checking up on how my flu recovery was doing and within the text, she had mentioned that every store up north had run out of hand sanitizer. I’m thinking to myself that there is no way that’s true, but nope she wasn’t kidding. This is when I really started to pay more attention to the news and what was actually happening. Also questioning why people all of a sudden were buying these things out of stock, especially the…toilet paper?

And yet a week later classes are now online or canceled, for the time being, even UNH (finally).

We all know there are issues in this world; political, social and especially environmental issues are always all around us. There are so many organizations and projects happening around the world to help the earth and its teaching people to become more sustainable. Here is one thing you can do, while also kicking the coronavirus outta here, to do just that!!

DIY Homemade Hand sanitizer! (and just maybe college students could do this too)

This is not only beneficial to the shortage in stores and your wallet, but the earth as well

Ingredients:

3 ounces of high-proof vodka, substitute can be rubbing alcohol! (common use a little of your Friday, it’ll help with the hangover)

1 ounce of pure aloe vera gel, you can even use aloe vera right from the plant itself!!

*And optional if you have it around but a ¼ teaspoon of Vitamin E oil will help to soften hands!

Now you may add 5-10 drops of your favorite essential oil smell!!! Personally, mine is lemon-grass or lavender, but there are so many to choose from.

Make this, use it, give or sell it to friends. Help this world become a better cleaner, less corona filled!!
