Back in college, I had set up a daily routine with enough time to do work, eat, go to the gym, hang out with friends, and talk to my family. It was a pretty good routine and I was being pretty active, not only by going to the gym, but walking to all my classes and eating healthy snacks/meals.
1. How long it takes me to get ready
Depending on what time I had class, I would either wake up at 7:30 or 8:30am to get ready and go to class. Now, on the other hand, I wake up 5 minutes before class and brush my teeth before tuning into my lecture. I try way less in getting ready since I know that no one will see what I look like.
2. Meal plan
I don’t have a specific time to eat nor do I eat as healthy as I used to. Even though dining hall food wasn’t my favorite, it was varied so that I had different opinions on what to eat. Now, it is only what is in the house and not everyone likes the same food – so it’s harder to try different things. I would also stop eating after like 9pm because it was after the gym and it was unhealthy to eat after a certain time. I also drank more water in college than I do now since I would carry my hydro flask with me everywhere I went.
3. Friendless
With our current situation, I can’t spend time with my friends. One main reason is, of course, the quarantine and I can’t really hang out with anyone, but apart from that once quarantine is over my friends and I don’t live in the same area. Before I would just walk about three feet and end up in front of their door while now they are cities away. Now rather than being able to spend time with my friends, I’m spending time with my family.
4. How much time I spend on schoolwork
Now that I’m home I tend to get much lazier on doing my work since I have many more distractions. At school, I did not have to worry about extra things. It was engraved in my brain that I was at school to learn and study, and had much more time to devote to only school. At home, I have to do chores and help out my parents in the house. I tend to spend less time on schoolwork and procrastinate much more.
This has changed my daily routine in a massive way, but I don’t mind it too much because it makes me more relaxed and some things much simpler. But, it also keeps me distracted a lot of the time.
