I’m pretty sure the movie Confessions of a Shopaholic was based on me, TBH. I’m not saying that I would spend enough to get myself into massive debt like Rebecca Bloomwood, but I’ve never been one to turn down a good sale. While I’d like to think I’m a smart shopper – I find sales like it’s my job – I may shop a bit more frequently than I should. But hey, isn’t that all of us at F.I.T.?
The past six months on lockdown have left me with more free time than I should have and thus many packages arriving at my doorstep. Now that the semester is starting, I’m trying to cut back on my spending and only buying what I truly need. When this happens, I’ll fall back on my favorite places to shop online for the best sales. If you’re a fellow shopaholic, I’m sharing my favorite places I’ve been shopping lately, because we shopaholics have to stick together!
Target
I’ll be the first to admit I have a slight Target addiction. Every time I go in for one thing I end up leaving with a shopping cart full of cute albeit unnecessary items. I’ve been especially leaning into their pajamas and athleisure lately.
Asos
I have recently started shopping at Asos again and I don’t know why I ever stopped. Their sale section is so good, especially if you’re looking for inexpensive yet trendy jewelry.
Marshalls
Before quarantine hit, I was going to Marshalls on 6th Avenue with my friends at least once a week – it’s our favorite weekly tradition. Now that my local Marshalls is open again, I can be at peace once again. While I’m no longer going once a week, when I do make the trip (in a mask, of course), I scour the aisles for the best Free People finds.
Poshmark
I recently started shopping on Poshmark and I wish I started years ago! While you definitely have to hunt, I’ve already added a few gems to my wardrobe. I’ve always washed secondhand finds before wearing them, but especially now I am extra careful to really scrub them before trying anything on.
Sephora
While Sephora has always been a favorite of mine, free shipping (Use the code “FREESHIP” at checkout!) has given me extra incentive to stock up on my favorites. I’ve especially loved trying new products from The Ordinary to combat my newfound maskne.
Now that my closet and beauty arsenal are overflowing fully stocked, I’m ready to tackle the new semester in style. Happy shopping!
