A Coffee Lover’s Guide to Fort Worth (Part 2)

Kate Williams Student Contributor, Texas Christian University
This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at TCU chapter and does not reflect the views of Her Campus.

For those of you who have been around for a while, you might remember Part 1 of this article (if you haven’t, read it here!). However, since then, I have become quite the traveled coffee guru and have a few more recommendations to add to my Fort Worth coffee list.

Chill Coffee and Wine Bar: 314 S Main St Ste 110

RATING: 7/10

One of the best discoveries I have made this year is South Main St., which you will soon discover is filled with amazing coffee spots, one being Chill Coffee and Wine Bar (which may or may not be the exact location where I am writing this article). Chill has such a vast menu, from teas and coffees to cozy sandwiches and a build-your-own charcuterie menu. The urban-minimalist aesthetic makes it a perfect place to study (or pretend to study while you’re actually just chatting with friends). And just outside, there is a huge patio with comfy couches and plenty of space to enjoy the “cool” weather.

Crude Craft Coffee Bar: 804 S Main St Ste 120

RATING: 8.5/10

Crude is one of my favorite hidden gems in Fort Worth. On South Main, it is so easy to drive right on by and miss this cozy nook, but stopping by is so worth it. This coffee shop is the definition of cozy, with dim lighting, moody music, and delicious coffee; this is one place in Fort Worth where it truly feels like the world falls away for an hour or two and I can simply relax. Maybe it’s not in the cutest area, but on a rainy day, my first thought is grabbing a book and heading straight to Crude for a perfect afternoon.

Summer Moon: 625 S Main St AND 817 Matisse Dr #445

RATING: 9/10

The final spot on the South Main tour is Summer Moon! However, they also have a location near W 7th Street, but that one doesn’t have a secret upstairs seating area. Summer Moon is just down the street from my Pilates studio, making this my favorite post-workout treat. I would even go so far as to say that Summer Moon has the best coffee in Fort Worth. While I’ve never had the pastries, every time I go in, I’m tempted just a little bit more to treat myself. This is one coffee shop that I could sit in for hours, enjoying the ambiance and actually being productive.

Branch & Bean Coffee + Roastery: 2624 Whitmore St

RATING: 8/10

Another hidden gem that you absolutely have to check out is Branch and Bean behind Montgomery Plaza. Connected to Maple Branch Brewery, Branch and Bean is a wonderful grab-and-go place that has the best pastries and even better coffee creations. While I usually take my coffee to go, there is an adorable outdoor patio that would be perfect on a beautiful day to sit with a friend and enjoy a wonderful cup of coffee.
