To all the Busyheads and bugs out there, get excited. Noah Kahan has officially announced his 2027 return tour for The Last of the Bugs.Â
Not only is Kahan coming back, but heâs coming back big, and I mean football-stadium big. His 2026 North American tour only included one football stadium, the Carter-Finley Stadium in Raleigh, NC. This time, with the exception of Fenway Park in Boston, MA, and Parc Jean-Drapeau in MontrĂ©al, QC, Kahan will be playing NFL stadiums across the United States.Â
Coming from a lucky individual who had the opportunity to attend Kahanâs concert at the Carter-Finley Stadium, experiencing his music in a football-stadium setting was incredible. The space, the views, everything.Â
With the extra space, the stage setup was able to include a car for âDial Drunk,” a lowered roof for âWilling and Able,” and other features to reference and highlight specific songs. There were also huge screens and parts of the stage that led outwards towards the audience, which allowed fans higher in the stands to still have a great view.
It was the perfect place for a bug to be, and I can only imagine how amazing the rest of the tour will be in stadiums across the country.
Noah Kahan’s Success
So, from one stadium to 14, how did we get here? Much of Kahanâs success traces back to his 2022 hit album Stick Season. Prior to this, his fan base consisted mostly of underground folk-pop listeners, but this release was groundbreaking for Kahanâs career and his fan demographics.
A major part of what made Stick Season so successful was Kahanâs dedication to storytelling and vulnerability. With nostalgic themes and folk instrumentals, Kahanâs ability to transform his stories into something for audiences to relate to is both gut-wrenching and admirable. After all, he is also known as “evil banjo man”. Mind you, he doesnât play the banjo.
Getting back on the sad folk-music track, the song âStick Seasonâ peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 in 2022 for Adult Alternative Airplay. Since then, Kahan has become a household name for folk, alternative rock, and in-between-genre lovers all around.Â
Stick Season is a staple, and I know Iâm not the only one out there who had “You’re Gonna Go Far” going platinum in my household when I was packing for college years ago. The popularity of Stick Season also brought other Kahan hits into the spotlight; âGodlightâ from I was/I am and âFalse Confidenceâ from Busyhead are just a few gems that come to mind.Â
âThe Great Divideâ
Now donât get me wrong, Stick Season is perfect, but The Great Divide is indisputably some of his best work to date. Itâs no surprise to me that next year, thousands of Busyheads around the U.S. will be singing (and probably crying) in some of this countryâs most iconic stadiums.
Other than size, what else is going to be different? Hunger Games and folk music lovers, brace yourselves. Kahanâs latest release, “Draw You Out”, debuted on Oct. 2 and is set to feature in the much-anticipated The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping.
This song is a raw, vulnerable track that encapsulates the feeling of struggling to get someone else to open up. Itâs haunting, itâs beautiful, and itâs a perfect representation of Kahanâs storytelling skills expanding from record studios to movie screens.Â
Between the latest release, its association with The Hunger Games saga, and, of course, expanded venue space, this new leg of the tour will be huge. So sign up for that presale, start planning your outfits, and happy sad bug summer to all those who celebrate!
