Your 20s are the ideal time to explore new interests, hobbies, and to step out of your comfort zone. Whether you’re looking for something fun to do in your free time or just want to relax, finding a new hobby can change your life for the better. If you’re ready to enter your hobby era, here are five activities worth trying!

1. Crochet

Crochet has recently become a trendy hobby, and I can see why! It’s creative, fun, and you get to create cute items to match your style. Crochet lets you experiment with different colors, patterns, and designs that reflect your personality. Plus, you get to wear and use items you made yourself!

2. Pottery

If you’ve been wanting to try something hands-on, pottery might become your next favorite hobby. Pottery allows you to express your artistic side while also learning a new skill. You can make mugs or decorative pieces, paint them, and give them your own special touch! I think this is a fun and relaxing hobby that girls should try out!

3. Flower arrangement

Who doesn’t love flowers? Flower arrangement is a fun and creative hobby that allows you to learn how to combine different types of flowers and create personalized bouquets. You can decorate your room with the flowers, and it’s also a cute activity to try with friends. This might actually become my next hobby!

4. Learning to Play an Instrument

You’ve probably heard this suggestion a million times, but learning to play an instrument is genuinely worth considering! Whether it’s piano, guitar, or flute, playing an instrument can stimulate your brain, improve concentration, and encourage creativity. It also helps you develop a new skill and become part of communities with the same interests as you!

5. Dancing

Most people think that dancing is just about learning choreography or mastering new moves. But it’s way more than that; it’s a fun way to stay active, meet new people, and express yourself. You can try pop, ballet, or any other style! I took dance classes when I was younger, and I loved it. So if you have been thinking about taking dance classes, this is your sign to do so!

Trying new things is about experimenting, discovering your passions, and having fun. So, do not be afraid to explore different interests because your next favorite hobby might be something you have never considered before!

Hi! My name is Sophia and I’m currently a sophomore studying journalism at the University of Houston. I aspire to become a strong writer and editor with an interest in the publishing and entertainment industry. I was born and raised in Houston. I am so excited to be a part of Her Campus and I am determined to grow and challenge myself during my time at the University.
I enjoy spending my free time crocheting, cooking and reading books. I am also a huge fan of music so I enjoy attending concerts and participating in fan culture. One of my favorite things to do at the moment is trying out different coffee shops around Houston.
