Sweater weather season is finally here! Theres nothing better than the warm feeling of staying in on a chilly fall day with the oven on and getting cozy with your girls. Add a fresh baked treat, a steamy drink and a good movie, and you’re set for the perfect night in. Here are 10 fun and unique fall baking ideas to try this season that aren’t your classic pumpkin pies and a cozy fall drink that complements each recipe. With the transition of going back to school, course schedules and other life events I feel it is important for everyone to wind down and have a cozy night in.

Salted Caramel Espresso Cookies

For my shaken espresso girlies, this is the ultimate salty, sweet, and caffeinated pick-me-up! Pair with a classic chamomile tea to balance the cookie’s rich sweetness!

Chai Latte Cupcakes

Chai lovers rise up! These are the cutest fall drink order in cupcake form. The warm spices make these perfect for a night in. As expected, pair this with a nice warm chai with cinnamon vanilla cold foam.

Jellycat Cinnamon Rolls

Want to make your baking adorable? Top off a classic cinnamon roll by shaping them like Jellycats! They’re almost too cute to eat! Pair this with a steamy white-hot chocolate to blend the cinnamon with something creamy and sweet.

Fudgy Ghost Brownies

Brownies, especially a good soft fudgy brownie is one of my favourite desserts. These rich, chocolatey ghost brownies are a fun way to make your baking night feel spookier. As these are baking, prepare a classic (or pumpkin spice) eggnog!

Apple Crumble Cheesecake

The perfect combination of a classic apple crumble and indulgent cheesecake. Apple is a true signature flavour of autumn, making this a perfect way to celebrate the season. This should be paired with the hot apple cider!

Snickerdoodles

You can never beat a classic soft snickerdoodle; they’re the perfect cinnamon sugar cookie. This recipe is extra special to me as they are my mom’s and my personal favourites. Every year she bakes these without fail, and they pair perfectly with a warm cup of Earl Grey tea.

Pumpkin S’mores Cookie Bars

Mixing pumpkin spice with a campfire classic? Yes please! These will pair beautifully with a cardamom hot chocolate as the warm spice will complement the rich flavour of pumpkin.

Apple Cider Donuts

Another apple recipe for the season that tastes just like fall! Pair this with a cold caramel macchiato as they will bring out the donut’s warm apple flavours.

Heart Jam Cookies

Another recipe from my mother’s kitchen! If you’re looking for a buttery jam-filled cookie, these are as cute, as they are delicious. These are the perfect cookies to share with loved ones! Pair this with a warm pecan crunch coffee to add a nutty contrast to the fruity jam.

Coraline Button Cookies

A whimsical soft treat inspired by Coraline! The black ones are classic, but if you prefer pink… or vermilion, or chartreuse… I’ll be jealous but they’ll be just as yummy. Pair this with a warm banana bread matcha latte and obviously, the Coraline movie.

Now that you have your baking lineup, all that’s left is to pick a recipe (or two), and start baking! I wanted this list to be a touch different from the usual desserts we see coming this year-round. Each treat has its own little something that makes it special. Hopefully you’ll find something that sounds fun to try and even make a new tradition. Wishing all you lovelies a tasty fall!
