Fall is officially here, which means the moment we’ve been waiting for is right around the corner. No, no Halloween or the return of pumpkin. I’m talking about the McDonald’s Monopoly game, of course! The fan-favorite fast-food game first started rewarding fans with freebies and fun in 1987, and after a decade-long hiatus, the game was brought back for customers to enjoy last year. Now, it is once again returning in 2026, starting Tuesday, Oct. 6. 

“MONOPOLY at McDonald’s is more than just a game. It’s about childhood memories, family moments and surprises that make our day,” Alyssa Buetikofer, Senior Vice President, Chief Marketing and Customer Experience Officer of McDonald’s USA, said in a press release. “This year, we’re giving fans even more reasons to play with bigger prizes, more rewards, and a simpler digital game experience that includes the classic peel.”

So, what does a “classic peel” mean? According to McDonald’s, any item you order off of the Monopoly menu will have a sticker you can peel off. Once you peel it, you’ll scan it in the app to reveal your prize. (Simple enough!)

Whether you’re a longtime fan of the McDonald’s Monopoly game or you’re new to the game and interested in participating this year, here’s everything to know about how to play (and win) the McDonald’s Monopoly 2026 game.

How To Play the McDonald’s Monopoly 2026 game

To play, you first need to download the McDonald’s app and opt in to the rewards program, then pre-register for the game. Starting on Oct. 6, order eligible menu items and peel the game sticker on the McDonald’s packaging. Once you have your game piece, you scan it into the McDonald’s app to redeem prizes, properties, and more.

Eligible menu items include the hash browns, McMuffins, biscuit sandwiches, large soft drinks, iced coffees, iced teas, specialty McCafé beverages, large hot McCafé beverages, large french fries, 10-piece Chicken McNuggets, Quarter Pounder with Cheeses, Big Macs, and four-piece McCrispy Strips. 

What Are The Prizes You Can Win During McDonald’s Monopoly?

There are four different prize opportunities. First is instant-win food, which consists of free McDonald’s food like the McChicken, Snack Wrap, McGriddles, shakes and smoothies, small fries, and more.

The second is the instant-win loyalty points; here, you can get anywhere from 1,500 to 7,000 MyMcDonald’s Reward Points to redeem in the app. 

The third option is called “Collect to Win.” Collect a winning combination of property pieces to win an epic getaway like a Carnival Cruise Vacation, a trip to Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex, a 2027 Jeep Cherokee, a choice of one of three vehicles from Polaris, and more. 

The last one is the “Chance Card,” which features some of the biggest prizes of them all. Play the Chance Card Game for your shot to win — from gift cards from brands like Grubhub, Ulta Beauty, Uber Eats and more, to large prizes like $50,000 toward a home down payment, $50,000 toward college debt payments, and cash prizes ranging from $10,000 to $1 million.
