There’s An ‘Off Campus’ Actor In ‘Crew Girl’ & I’m Obsessed With Him

If you are an avid Off Campus fan like me, then you might open up Netflix to a familiar face on Sept. 10. Spoiler alert: Spoilers for Netflix’s Crew Girl follow. Crew Girl, Netflix’s new teen drama, follows Teagan Tao, a talented rower who transfers to an elite Massachusetts prep school and unexpectedly becomes the coxswain of the school’s all-boys crew team. As she tries to prove herself and earn the trust of her teammates, Teagan has to navigate intense competition, team drama and, of course, a complicated love triangle between the school’s golden boy, Josh Regis, and the quieter, more determined Cam Dillinger. But those aren’t the only two men on the team. Among the group of rowers joining Teagan on the water is Riley Davis, who Off Campus fans will recognize as Sean, Allie Hayes’ ex-boyfriend. Yep, I was freaking out, too.

Davis’s character, Noah Bainbridge, is one you’re bound to fall in love with. Unlike Sean from Off Campus, Noah is sweet, kind, and nerdy in the best way. While Crew Girl definitely has its share of romance and drama, the crew team itself is a huge part of the story, which gives Noah plenty of room to stand out.

It’s also fun seeing Davis in a role that feels so different from Sean. If you watched Off Campus and immediately associated the actor with Allie’s ex, Crew Girl is basically a chance to reset your brain and get to meet him as a different, more likable character.

Will Riley Davis Return to Off Campus or Crew Girl?

Off Campus has already been renewed for Season 2, and the upcoming season will continue expanding the world of Elle Kennedy’s Briar U characters, following Dean and Allie’s storyline with the third book, The Score. But as of now, Davis has not been officially confirmed as part of the Season 2 cast. That doesn’t necessarily mean Sean is gone for good, though.

In the books, Sean plays a more significant role in The Score, so there is source material that could bring Sean back. However, the show covered significant portions of the book in Season 1, meaning we don’t know how far the producers will deviate from the book (or add from other novels) in Season 2. 

As for Davis in Crew Girl, we don’t know whether the Netflix series will be renewed for a second season yet, but Noah feels like a character who could easily stick around if the show gets another season. 

So, will we see Riley Davis back as Sean in Off Campus? Maybe. Will we see him back as Noah in Crew Girl? I hope so. For now, Off Campus fans have a pretty fun reason to check out Crew Girl.
