Sterling Point, created and directed by Megan Park, follows Annie Jacobson, a teenager who heads to Muskoka, Ontario, Canada after finding out she and her twin brother inherited an island from the grandfather they never met. What starts as a family fact-finding mission quickly turns into a summer packed with romance, new friendships, and secrets that refuse to stay buried. The cottage is at the center of it all — where the biggest moments go down, and Annie finally starts to feel connected to a family history she never knew. Basically, it’s the heart of the series, which makes staying there even more of a big deal for fans.
If you’ve been Googling where the cottage is IRL, here’s the scoop: it’s actually Gordon Bay Cottage, right on Lake Joseph in Ontario’s Muskoka region. The five-bedroom house has been around since 1902 and used to be part of a summer resort before it became one of the show’s most iconic filming spots. But there’s one thing Sterling Point fans should know before they start packing: the inside of the cottage isn’t what you see on the show. Gordon Bay Cottage was used for all the exterior and waterfront shots, but the interior scenes were filmed on a soundstage in Toronto. So instead of the show’s old-school vibe, the real cottage has a brighter, more modern look with hardwood floors, white walls, and updated furniture.
