When people hear the word “luxury,” they tend to think of expensive vacations, designer bags, and fancy restaurants. But plenty of luxuries are actually pretty cheap, or cost nothing at all. Completely ordinary things can make a big difference.
Getting your favorite drink before class
The drink itself isn’t necessarily the luxury, but taking the time to stop before class is. You can take a moment before your day gets busy to genuinely enjoy something.
A clean room
Having a clean space can create the feeling that your life is more put together than it is. And it takes one more responsibility off your plate. Instead of having to come home from class and clean, you can relax in peace.
Having nowhere to be in the morning
As college students, our schedules dictate our lives. So, having any sort of free time is a luxury. Waking up without an alarm screaming at you, being able to actually make breakfast, and taking time to get ready all help make your day feel peaceful.
Finishing all of your assignments before the weekend.
Finishing assignments early means the weekend actually feels like the weekend. There’s no guilty feeling of “I should be doing homework right now.” Guilt free fun is a huge luxury in college.
Having your phone fully charged.
As college students, we have a never-ending list of things to worry about. Having your phone fully charged means one more thing off the list. And, as an added bonus, seeing 100% when you leave the house is very satisfying. Having a fully charged phone also guarantees that you’ll be able to easily navigate campus, listen to music, check your schedule, and text your friends.
Luxury doesn’t always means spending a large amount of money. For college students, it’s a few extra minutes here and there, one less thing to do, or one less thing to worry about. Many of these may seem ordinary, but they can make a huge difference.
