Believe it or not, it’s already time for Bama Rush season to commence once again. ICYMI, the University of Alabama has released its timeline for sorority recruitment, with the schedule running through early August before classes officially begin. During that time, expect to see tons of GRWM (get ready with me) videos, DIML (day in my life) vlogs, and plenty of opinions from people following along across the country. Throughout the week, potential new members (PNMs) will get to know all the sororities on campus, culminating in Bid Day, when they find out which sorority they are invited to join. So fun!
Every August, viewers tune into Bama RuskTok like it’s their favorite reality show. They pick their favorite PNMs, guess the houses the different women will end up in, and celebrate each new round of rush. Even people with no interest in Greek life find a few videos on their FYP every year.
If you’re planning to keep up with the highs and lows of Alabama Rush, it helps to know what’s happening behind the vlogs and outfit checks. So, here’s a breakdown of the Bama Rush 2026 schedule, what happens during each round, and what you can expect to see all over your TikTok feeds in the coming weeks.
Aug. 8: Convocation & Open House
Rush kicks off with convocation, an informational session where attendants learn about the rules, timelines, and general info to know before the recruitment truly begins. Don’t expect to see too much this day, as the official recruitment begins the following day.
Aug. 9-11: Philanthropy Round
During the Philanthropy Round, PNMs spend time learning about each sorority’s philanthropic partner and the charitable work its members support throughout the year. On TikTok, expect lots of OOTDs, recruitment updates, and early predictions on which house your favorite member may end up in.
Aug.12-14: Sisterhood Round
By Sisterhood, the options have started to narrow, and the PNMs are spending more time with the houses they are still in the running for. Conversations become more personal, as both the recruiting members and PNMs try to determine whether they’re the right fit for one another. This is often when emotions run high, both on and offline, as many PNMs learn if their top choice sororities are interested in moving forward with them.
Aug. 15: Preference Day
Preference Day, or “Pref,” is the final day of recruitment. PNMs visit up to two remaining chapters for longer, more meaningful conversations and get one last opportunity to see where they feel most at home. Expect to see some of the nicest outfits on this day, as the PNMs dress up to meet with the different chapters one more time.
Aug. 16: Bid Day
After a long week, the big day arrives! On Bid Day, all the PNMs meet up to open their bid envelopes, revealing which sorority they are invited to join. After that, the new members get to run to the house and celebrate with their new sisters. Expect to see videos covering a range of emotions, and tons of jumping and hugging as another season of Bama Rush comes to a close.
