How To Get Chipotle’s “Water” Break World Cup BOGO Deal

Chipotle is practically unstoppable when it comes to legendary food deals, and its World Cup offerings have only further proven that point. First, there was the World Cup Matchday deal, which gave customers wearing jerseys a buy-one-get-one-free deal. Now, with the World Cup almost over, Chipotle is doing a $1 million burrito giveaway to round out the festivities — and it includes a very cheeky reference that true Chipotle fans will totally understand.

Playing on the World Cup’s “hydration breaks,” Chipotle just announced its first-ever Chipotle “Water” Break. But why is the brand calling out “water” in this way? Well, ICYMI, Chipotle seems to be having a hiccup with the self-serve drink stations inside its restaurants: It seems that customers are “accidentally” filling water cups up with lemonade (which costs money) instead of water (which is free). The brand is basically poking fun at its customers for stealing, which is a very friendly way to call them out — and reward them at the same time.

Here’s how the giveaway works: On July 16, during the World Cup final match, a video will be uploaded to the Chipotle Instagram account during the second official hydration break of the match. The video will contain three water cups, with one full of lemonade. The viewer will need to follow the lemonade-filled water cup as the cups get mixed up. At the end of the video, the lemonade-filled cup will reveal a code. If you text the code to 888-222 and are one of the first one hundred thousand participants, you will receive an offer for a free entrée. This entrée deal is only available in the United States and the code must be used before Sep 24.

North America has seen an influx of international tourists as a result of the World Cup. Although Chipotle is located in some countries outside of the United States, many are trying American cuisine and restaurants for the first time, including Chipotle. With all of the food buzz over the last few weeks, and the cultural friendships made along the way, this could be a tasty parting gift to commemorate the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
