When I read Elle Kennedy’s Off-Campus series in high school, never in my wildest dreams did I think it would become a TV show. I bought those books during a particularly rough time, and they became a huge comfort to me. So, it’s no surprise when the first Season of the Off Campus TV series, based on Kennedy’s first book in her series, The Deal, was released on Prime Video, I watched all eight episodes in less than 24 hours.
Now that I have since started my first rewatch, and spent more time than I’d like to admit watching TikTok edits of Dean and Allie, I’m already starting to feel the loss of this great show, and the realization that I’m going to have to wait at least a little while before I can watch Season 2. My only consolation is that the show was already greenlit for a second Season before the first even came out, so fans can already start cooking up some theories of what’s to come for Season 2 of Off Campus.
If you’re in the same boat as I am, here’s a list of six Off Campus Season 2 theories to keep you fed while you wait for more from this show and its lovable characters.
Will Season Two Star Allie and Dean?
Allie and Dean, are the protagonists of the third book in the series The Score, but we have already seen a good chunk of their book storyline. So, what does this mean for Season 2? I don’t think Dean and Allie fans need to worry. Based on that finale, this is only the beginning for those two. Whether or not they will be the leads of Season 2 is the topic of a lot of fan debate. Since their storyline is already moved up compared to the book order, lots of fans think Dean and Allie will be the stars of Season 2.
“Some things had to work a little differently because of the timing and the way we platform them, but I promise all the fan-favorite things are still intended and planned,” showrunner Louisa Levy told Variety. “There’s still a lot of road with those two.”
Hot take, but I don’t think this show will take the one-couple-per-season, Bridgerton-style timeline. I think there is a lot to come for Allie and Dean, but I think it will be woven in with all our other favorite characters’ stories, like it was this Season. But, only time will tell.
Will something happen between Logan and Hannah?
Logan’s crush on Hannah plays a pretty big role in his character’s story in Season 1, and also is a point of tension in Logan’s own book, The Mistake. But, the show makes his crush on Hannah a bigger focal point than it is in the books. So, what does that mean for the second Season? It’s likely we will see more of Logan and his crush on Hannah in Season 2, and it’s possible something more could come of it. But, rest assured, Logan has a girl of his own on the way. IYKYK.
Will Dean’s sister Summer make an appearance?
Anyone who has read Off-Campus’s first spinoff book series, Briar U, knows that Summer Di Laurentis is the leading lady of the first book, The Chase, in that series. But, Summer also appears in Dean and Allie’s book for some fan-favorite moments. Given that the show has set up a past between Summer and Hunter, it’s entirely possible we will see Summer in Season 2. The character hasn’t been cast, but Levy hasn’t ruled anything out just yet. “[Hunter] is a key player in Summer’s story when we eventually get there,” she said in the same interview with Variety. “Knock on wood, I would love to keep making this for as long as people want to watch it.”
Who Is Hunter Davenport?
Hunter is another character who showed up in the end of the Season in a fabulously tense twist. But, for book fans, Hunter’s arrival is a bit of a surprise. Hunter is a protagonist of the Off-Campus spinoff series Briar U, and does play a big role in Summer’s (Dean’s sister) story. But, the big rivalry between him and Dean, and this mysterious past drama they seem to have in the show, is all new. While this is different from the books, I’m excited to see where it goes, and what new twists and drama we are going to get from him.
What’s next for Logan and Tucker?
Logan and Tucker are the two roommates who still don’t have love interests at the end of Season 1. Since Dean and Allie’s storyline was expedited for the show, it’s hard to know what Season 2 has in store for our two other Off Campus boys. One thing is certain, though, which is that Logan’s love interest, Grace Ivers, has already been cast for Season 2, which was announced in a video showing a video call between her and Antonio Cipriano, who plays Logan. As a Logan girl to my core, I seriously can’t wait.
Tucker, on the other hand, has a more uncertain future on the show. His is the last book in the series, and his character is younger than the others to make it possible for him to still be at Briar by the time we get to his story. Based on this, it’s likely that Tucker’s character will still be around in Season two, whether or not he will get his own Season. But, neither a third or fourth Season of the show are confirmed yet, so as of now we can only hope we’ll make it to his love story. At the very least, Tucker will hopefully be back wearing that pink apron in Season 2, and doing another hot rendition of “Save A Horse Ride A Cowboy.”
Will Hannah and Garrett still be a part of Season 2?
Since Hannah and Garrett got their happily ever after at the end of Season 1, fans may be wondering if there is still more screentime to come for these two in the next Season. Because Hannah and Garrett play pretty important roles in the storylines for both Dean and Allie and for Logan and Grace, it’s safe to say we aren’t done yet with Garrett and Wellsy.
