Summer has finally arrived after finals week! After working hard on grades and assignments, it’s finally time for a break. With summer here, there are so many new things to try out, here are some ideas for this summer to add some excitement to your summer! From arts and crafts, to adventures you can go on with your best friends, to things you can do independently!

Arts & Crafts

For people who enjoy arts and crafts, summer is the perfect time to start new projects, and even if you’re not into art, it’s something new you might want to try out. A lot of people enjoy handcrafts because not only can you use them as decor, but you can also expand your art skills to build more projects for the future! Here are some simple and fun crafts, or if you want to call them DIYs, you should try them this summer! These are also great activities for girls’ nights during the summer!

Decorating CD Player Discs

These would be such cute room or door decor, or even for your future door decor! If you like having a music aesthetic in your room and you have paints and brushes around, designing your own rainbow or flower patterns or Pinterest-inspired disc could be so fun!

Shell Frame

If you’re taking a beach trip and collecting pretty shells but aren’t sure what to do with them, turn them into a cute photo frame to put memories inside during your trip! Take a plain frame you might have lying around, grab a hot glue gun and decorate your own personalized frame.

Summer Adventure Journal

No matter what journey you go on this summer, every moment counts. From small adventures to major trips, collect little things like movie tickets or small trinkets you want to keep. It’s good to hold those memories together, whether it’s from a beach trip or a vacation with friends and family.

Summer Food

Who doesn’t like having a good snack during the summer? Something quick and refreshing for you, either during a picnic or even on the way to work, can really make summer even better! These snacks are also great nut-free options for friends with peanut or tree nut allergies, as well as enjoyable snacks to pair with a drink on the side!

Fruit Kabobs

A quick and simple food for picnics and beach trips, since fruit is especially sweet and refreshing during the hot summer weather. Take any fruit you enjoy during the summer and place it on a skewer! Prepping it this way can help avoid sticky hands or sand getting in your fruit.

Pasta Salad

Something more on the savory side! Use fresh veggies and your favorite dressing on your pasta salad. There are so many varieties, such as ranch, Italian, Caesar or even olive oil as the dressing. Add your favorite toppings like bacon, cucumbers, diced ham, bell peppers, tomatoes or anything else you might enjoy! Use your favorite type of pasta — I definitely recommend bowtie pasta.

Peach Cobbler

Who doesn’t love a sweet treat to end the day with? Something refreshing and sweet (P.S. you can also add ice cream to it!). Peaches are a perfect summer fruit because they’re refreshing and sweet. It only takes a few simple ingredients to make.

Summer time is always a fun time! But be sure to stay hydrated and have so much fun! Summer is a time to refresh and take care of ourselves without worrying about schoolwork. If you are taking summer classes, also be sure to continue making time and taking breaks before the semester begins again! I hope these ideas help make your summer even more fun and memorable!
