Everyone looks forward to Thanksgiving because of its big meal and connecting with family. As people start talking about their holiday plans, one topic always comes up: the food. Here’s what your favorite Thanksgiving dish might say about you.

Turkey:

You like structure in your life. You love knowing how something is going to work out and feel comfort in the familiarity. For Thanksgiving, you always pile your plate up with turkey and gravy.

Mashed Potatoes:

You are someone who always loves to relax and spend the winters inside by a cozy fire. Your ideal Thanksgiving would be spent on a cozy couch by the fireplace watching football.

Mac and Cheese:

You are always up for a good time and always have so much energy. Your days are usually busy, but you would not want it any other way. Thanksgiving for you looks like a time for games: whether this is family football or card games, you are always up for something.

Sweet Potatoes:

If this dish is your favorite, then you love the little things that make the holiday season so special. For Thanksgiving, you always come prepared with a fresh baked dessert for your family. You always love baking for others and sharing your love from the kitchen on the table.

Pumpkin Pie:

You are someone who loves everything fall. Each time fall rolls around, you go to Starbucks and get yourself a chai latte with pumpkin cold foam. Thanksgiving is your favorite holiday, and you always are dressed in festive fall colors for dinner.

I hope everyone is looking forward to the holiday season. It is a time where people can reconnect with their family and friends and enjoy a nice warm meal. I think being a college student, holidays, such as Thanksgiving, are much more appreciated. Students start to realize how important family is to them and value the time being spent together.

Holy Cross '28

My name is Mia Simpson and I am currently a sophomore at the College of Holy Cross. I originally grew up outside of Philadelphia in a town called Radnor. My academic interests are Sociology and Business. Later in life, I am considering going into the field of business pursuing communications or marketing.

One thing about me is that I absolutely love to be active and move my body. I love going to the gym, doing pilates, or just going on a run or walk. I found moving my body each day helps clear my mind and help me feel refreshed for the rest of the day. This is something essential I incorporate each day.

Another activity I enjoy doing is cooking and baking. I love finding recipes online and making them for my family and friends.

I decided to join Her Campus because I have always loved expressing my emotions and feelings through writing. Learning that I am able to express them in an artistic and structured way appealed to me because now I can publish my writing for other people to see instead of keeping it to myself. I also love the sense of community Her Campus creates with various group meetings filled with fun activities and the supportive online community.

I hope that by joining Her Campus I will learn more about myself through my writing as well as learning new writing techniques to improve my overall writing. I also hope I can express myself through my writing portions so people can learn more about me and my personal feelings and beliefs. I hope by expressing my true self and interests it will inspire others to try out some of my interests for themselves.
