With colder weather coming in, fashion brands have been trying to keep up with the trends by focusing on their holiday campaigns. Usually when you hear winter fashion, you think layers and plaid, but there is so much more depth to the advertising of these clothes and products. Companies have to be very competitive and on top of their game to keep up with society’s demands. Luxury brands like Prada, Louis Vuitton, and Miu Miu have released their holiday campaigns of 2025. Let’s unpack:

Prada

“A Winter’s Tale,” released in late October, launched Prada’s holiday collection. The main video shows a group of friends, played by Maya Hawke, Damson Idris, Louis Partridge, Letitia Wright, and Li Xian, discovering a whimsical winter wonderland. The collection displays elegant, but also functional pieces emphasizing holiday tradition and freedom. In this collection, I noticed more products that can be deemed more adventurous with the “Prada Explore medium nappa leather backpack” and “Leather booties” for women and the “Prada Speedrock Re-Nylon and leather backpack” and “Technical fabric blouson jacket” for men. Prada’s Holiday Collection 2025 holds a diverse variety of practical pieces as well as classy, timeless products.

Louis Vuitton

Louis Vuitton took a similar cinematic approach with their campaign. “Le Voyage des Lumières” or “The Journey of Lights” represents how Louis Vuitton “illuminates a world of wonder.” The video shows a lantern flying through the sky lighting up different parts of the world- mountains, cities, etc. This campaign feels emotional, resembling the connection of family, friends, and partners. The video links to “Holiday Gifts” displaying four categories for men and for women relating to the campaign story. Highlights of each collection include tones of the classic Louis Vuitton browns and pops of cool blues, pinks, and purples “for Her” and deep forest greens and hints of blue and orange “for Him.”

Miu Miu

Famous models, Angela Hill and Gigi Hadid starred in this year’s Miu Miu holiday campaign. The video has an old-timey vibe with dusty film footage and comfy, classy clothes. With the ancient stonewalls and timeless pieces, there is a contrast developed that shows the strength of the collection. The campaign features “effortless elegance” demonstrating the unexpected.

Though these are just a few analyses on designer brand campaigns, there are many more productions worth watching. It is interesting to examine these extremely successful companies and their strategies to marketing around one of the busiest times of year. Brands create a story- drawing their consumer in and leading them to feel attached to more than just a piece of cloth, but rather an experience.
