The Universe Did Not Make You Average

At some point between childhood and now, life switched from “sharing crayons and having favourite letters” to “please list your achievements, goals, and a 10-year-down-the-lane plan.” Which is funny, because most of us are still trying to go to classes regularly. And yet, in the middle of unfinished assignments, cold coffee, and identity crises, we sit there overthinking:
“What if I’m… just average?”

Well, relax.

If the universe wanted you average, it would have copy-pasted you. Instead, it built you from improbable stardust, questionable luck, and oddly specific personality traits that exist in no other combination on Earth.

The universe did not run a cosmic simulation, align billions of atoms, and handcraft one unrepeatable, chaotic, sparkling you… just so you could feel mid because someone else got a 9.2 GPA.

Life is not all that serious.

we were never meant to be identical.

Imagine a world where everyone wakes up at 5 AM, journals mindfully, drinks spinach smoothies, and tracks productivity in five different apps. Impressive on paper, but unbearably boring in reality.

The truth is, not everyone is built the same; some people thrive on structure and discipline, while others run perfectly well on chaos and caffeine. Some have detailed step-by-step plans, and some are rerouting their entire life every fifteen minutes like Google Maps in a rainstorm.

Different people need different formulas, and that’s the whole plot: life was never meant to be one-size-fits-all. If it were, I can’t imagine how UTTERLY boring this world would be.

You’re not average.

Maybe you overthink texts, laugh too loudly, collect hobbies like Pokémon, change your mind every two weeks, send memes instead of emotional paragraphs, and switch between confident and confused like a light switch… and honestly, good. That just means you have texture, that you’re real, that you’re not trying to live life as a perfectly curated slideshow.

“Average” is only what life looks like when you zoom out too far; zoom in close enough, and every single person is an adorable, ridiculous, chaotic mess in their own delightful way.

AND MIND YOU,
You are NOT a productivity robot.

Some days you’re a legend who finishes three assignments, cleans your desk, hydrates like an Olympic athlete, and plans the rest of your life in a colour-coded notebook.

But other days? You are a lazy, bed-rotting animal, lying peacefully and binge-watching edits of fictional men and telling yourself, “I’ll start after this one.”

Both versions are absolutely valid because both versions are you.

Life doesn’t need to be a straight line of motivation; some days will be productive and happening, and other days will be dull and tedious. That’s absolutely okay, and none of that makes you average. It makes you alive.

TRUST ME, YOUR “WEIRDNESS” IS NOT A GLITCH.

Maybe you talk too fast when excited.
Maybe you yap to God like he personally wronged you.
Maybe you accidentally trauma-dump and then say “lol anyway.”
Maybe your playlists jump from heartbreak to Bollywood to villain-arc music in three songs.

All of that? Chef’s kiss. Unique. Iconic.
There is not a single person on Earth who is weird in the same way as you.

People spend their entire lives trying to “fix” their quirks, not realising those quirks are literally the seasoning of their personality. Remove the weirdness, and you become unflavoured and boring. And nobody wants that.

Think of “average” as a camera trick:
Everyone looks normal from far away. Everyone looks chaotic up close.

You’re not average. You’re just zooming out too much.
Zoom in, and suddenly your life becomes a mosaic of little oddities, tiny victories, embarrassing moments, and accidental brilliance.

That’s humanity.
That’s the fun of it.

Average Is A Myth, But You’re A Plot Twist.

Life isn’t a competition to see who can be the most polished person with the most organised spreadsheets.

Life is supposed to be messy, hilarious, deeply unserious cosmic joke whose punchline is that being weird, textured, and having quirks is exactly what makes you unforgettable.
