The Ultimate “Everything Shower”: My Fruity-Floral Self-Care Routine

There’s something so relaxing and magical about stepping into the shower and letting it become more than just a routine; it’s a full-on sensory experience. As someone who lives for fruity and floral scents, I’ve made the ultimate “everything shower.”

If you’re not sure exactly what an “everything shower” is, it’s all your favorite steps coming together to make a shower routine feel like a mini spa retreat.

Every product is chosen not just for how it smells, but also for how it makes me feel, which is comforting, feminine, and indulgent. And while I am layering scents, I’m mindful of my skin and always make sure that this fragrance ritual stays as nourishing as it is fun.

Step 1: Scalp Care

I like to keep my shampoo and conditioner very simple because I have scalp psoriasis, which does not love heavy fragrances. I’m currently using a matching Pantene set, specifically the Pantene Pro-V Smooth & Sleek Duo

I really like this shampoo and conditioner because I feel like it gives me the moisture that I need while not making my hair feel very stripped. I also like how this shampoo and conditioner don’t really have a scent.

After shampooing, I apply a salicylic acid treatment to soothe my scalp and always follow up with the conditioner because it can be pretty drying. On days that I feel that my hair needs more nourishment, I use the Raw Sugar Healing Power Hair Mask with avocado, banana oil, coconut milk, and agave.

Step 2: Body Wash

For body wash, I alternate between the Native Lilac & White Tea body wash and the Nivea White Peach & Jasmine with Nourishing Serum body wash. The notes of the Native Lilac & White Tea body wash are fresh, watery, and floral, with a top note of white tea and citrus.

The Nivea White Peach & Jasmine with Nourishing Serum has notes of juicy peach and Jasmine. It’s like if you took the juiciest peach off a tree and just bit into it.

Step 3: Exfoliation & Shaving

Once a week, usually when I shave, I use Tree Hut’s Moroccan Rose Shea Sugar Scrub, which has warm, romantic notes of bergamot, tea rose, and amber. I scrub and shave with the body wash I’m using, and rinse again to remove any sugar residue left.

I’m also eyeing other scrubs like Desert Haze, Enchanted Jasmine, and Pink Hibiscus, which all have a fruity-floral scent profile to switch up the routine.

Step 4: Hair Styling Prep

After stepping out of the shower, I like to protect my hair with OGX Silk Blowout as my heat protectant, and then I style it with my Revlon One-Step Volumizer Hot Air Brush

I finish off my hair with the Her Styler Hair Serum, which has argan oil and vitamin E for softness, shine, and a gentle scent.

Step 5: Scent Layering

For everyday wear, I apply the Sol de Janeiro Bum Bum Firmeza Body Oil to erogenous zones like behind the ears, collarbones, wrists, and ankles.

This body oil has the scent profile of Cherosia 62, and its top notes are pistachio and almond, middle notes are heliotrope and Jasmine petals, and their dry notes are vanilla, salted caramel, and sandalwood.

For a bolder scent, I layer the Burberry Brit Sheer Eau de Toilette Spray.

I’m also eyeing the Beija Flor Elasti-Body Oil for a lighter, airy floral fruity vibe when I want something more fresh and playful. I also feel like this oil might blend better with the rest of my routine.

This oil is in the Cheroisa 68 scent profile. Its top notes are pink dragonfruit and lychee, middle notes are Brazilian jasmine, ocean air, and hibiscus, and its dry notes are sheer vanilla and sun musk.

Tips For Your Own “Everything Shower”

When creating your own “everything shower” routine, tailor it to your skin type and exfoliate or shave only a few times a week to avoid dryness. Start with lighter scents in the shower, then build with oils or lotions, and finish with perfume.

Choose scent combinations you enjoy when blending fragrances. It’s also important to protect your scalp with a mild shampoo, conditioner, or any other treatments that suit you.

Remember that less is sometimes more, pick what feels good that day. Mix your favorite scents, textures, and rituals, and don’t be afraid to experiment. At the end of the day, a shower is more than just hygiene; it’s a moment to pamper yourself.
