Happy Holidays, Houston Hotties! With finals being over and the semester wrapping up, it’s finally time to feel that holiday cheer and unwind after a long semester. The best part is, you’re in Houston, and there are dozens of ways to celebrate and be merry! So, in the spirit of the season, here is a Houston hot girl’s guide to making the most of the most wonderful time of the year!

Light Up The Night

One of the best things about the holidays is how they bring a special glow with their gorgeous holiday lights. Looking at Christmas lights is a perfect way to spend a winter night if you’re a more chill, lowkey person. Fortunately, Houston has several great locations to go see them for yourself! If you’re looking for somewhere to see holiday lights, get some cute Instagram pictures, and take a stroll embracing the winter weather, one of the best places to go is River Oaks. This area is known as one of the most affluent residential areas in town, located between Uptown and Downtown Houston. The neighborhood is recognized for its dazzling holiday light displays and its grandiose, charming houses. Luckily, there is no shortage of dazzling displays around town; other great places to see holiday lights include the Bayou Bend Collection and Garden’s Christmas Village, POST Houston’s Winter Wonderland, and various places around Downtown Houston.

sleigh the ice

Make your winter a bit more whimsical by going ice skating! Several places around town open outdoor skating rinks during the holidays. One of the most notable is the Rice Village skating rink. Here, you can skate under the stars, take advantage of the cute holiday-themed photo ops available, go holiday shopping, and even grab a bite with your friends! This is the ideal place for a cute winter night out with your girls (or a special someone). Discovery Green also has a skating rink located in the heart of Houston. Here you get to skate with a scenic, beautiful view of Downtown Houston and its skyline. If being out in the cold isn’t your thing, that’s okay! You can still go skating; indoor skating is available at the Galleria and Memorial City Mall skating rinks.

No Snow, but we have shows!

Houston is home to an amazing performance arts scene that dazzles during the holidays. If you want to elevate your night, you can try to catch and enjoy a show at one of the many performing arts venues in the city, such as the Alley Theatre, the Wortham Theatre Center, Theatre Under the Stars, and Jones Hall. These venues put on showings of Christmas classics such as A Christmas Carol, A Charlie Brown Christmas, and The Nutcracker for showgoers to enjoy during this time of the year! Take advantage of this time of year and have some classy Christmas fun while you can.

Go HOLIDAY BAR HOPPING

If you’re of age and looking to spice up your night with some naughty and nice fun, a cute Christmas cocktail and perhaps a bit of a wild night out, consider visiting one of the many Holiday pop-up bars in Houston! Bars around Houston usually transform into winter wonderlands and go all out with decorations during this time of year. Holiday whimsy isn’t reserved for only young kids — don’t let being an adult stop you from enjoying and indulging in this very fun and festive time of year! Try visiting Holidaze at GreenStreet, Frosty’s, and Emilia’s Havana.

As the temperatures drop and our busy schedules finally ease, enjoy those cozy moments at home, but don’t forget to go out and enjoy the holiday season! Houston is bursting with holiday cheer, ready for you to explore, indulge, and enjoy some naughty and nice fun. Go light up the city, Houston Hotties!
