The Rumors Are True: ‘The Bear’ Is Coming Back For Season 5

Updated Published

A new season of The Bear dropped on June 25 — and fans are already hungry for more. After that wild bombshell in the Season 4 finale, I know I wasn’t the only one wondering if there will be a The Bear Season 5. And, on July 1, it was confirmed that the Emmy-award-winning show would come back for another season. Spoiler alert: Spoilers for Season 4 of The Bear follow.

ICYMI, Season 4 of The Bear ends in a way that none of us expected. In the final episode of the season, it’s revealed that Carmy is planning to leave The Bear (the restaurant, not the show) to find himself outside of the culinary industry. In doing so, he intends to leave the restaurant to Sydney, Natalie, and (later in the episode) Richie, after being confronted by Sydney.

On July 1, FX announced that The Bear would be returning for a fifth season. “The Bear continues to be a fan favorite worldwide and their response to this season — as seen through incredibly high viewership — has been as spectacular as any of its previous seasons,” said FX Chairman John Landgraf in a statement about the renewal. “Year-in and year-out, Chris Storer, the producers, cast and crew make The Bear one of the best shows on television, and we are excited that they will continue to tell this magnificent story.”

When will Season 5 of The Bear come out?

There isn’t much information about when The Bear Season 5 will hit streaming. But, according to Deadline, it’s slated to premiere sometime in 2026.

Will Jeremy Allen White be in Season 5 of The Bear?

It’s looking pretty likely. Deadline reported that White would be returning to The Bear alongside the show’s other stars, Ayo Edebiri and Ebon Moss-Bachrach. Judging by the end of Season 4, fans can probably expect to see Carmy grappling with life outside of the restaurant — which, IMO, would be a pretty interesting switch-up from past season. Production hasn’t started yet, but here’s to hoping it gets going quickly!
