Have you ever wished you had a playlist full of songs perfectly curated for an oddly specific feeling or a super niche scenario that feels almost unreal? You might even just want songs similar to a popular one youâve heard before. Well, youâve come to the right place!
This weekâs playlist is called âJust Bc I Love You,â a collection of songs that remind you of being in love. These tracks feel like slow dancing in the kitchen, and secret glances from across the room. Love is universal, so Iâve included every genre of music I can think of so you can feel the butterflies in every kind of way.
- âNothing But Youâ by The Vamps
-
From their 2015 Radio Disney era to now, The Vamps know how to make love sound like an adventure. This song feels like the night after a successful 2 a.m. âu up?â text and looking over to see the pretty face beside you wearing the same cheesy grin you are. The upbeat rhythm is the perfect personification of the âhoneymoon phaseâ in relationships. You will definitely be reminded of the first few dates that left you with crazy butterflies and rosy cheeks for hours afterward.Â
- “everyone adores you (at least I do)” by matt maltese
-
I adore this song with all my heart. As someone who struggles with their self-esteem and perception of their body, this song has always felt like a warm hug at the end of a long day. Matt Malteseâs smooth voice makes all of his songs seamless, and this track in particular makes you melt with peace. This song is a kiss on the forehead and lovely compliments from your lover on those days when you hate mirrors.Â
- “I would do anything for you” by foster the people
-
Coming from someone who has been in plenty of rough relationships in the past, one of my favorite definitions for love is âsomeone that doesnât give up on you.â I think that real love makes you unashamedly a simp and this song describes that well. My favorite line is, âShaking my head from all I had done but you never left me,â and Iâm obsessed with the idea that love doesnât judge you for the past but is patient. Everyone deserves a tremendously sappy and painfully cringey simp of their own. Â
- “lovers do” by the brummies
-
Say what you want about fun dates and crazy nights out, but nothing beats an afternoon cuddling in bed. This song feels like sleeping in with your partner and hiding under the covers when the sun starts peeking through the blinds. This is the song you start on your record player before crawling back into their arms for another kiss. The Brummies made this feel like it was sung underwater, and that only adds to the airy and delicate tone of the track.Â
- “I got you” by bazzi
-
Bazzi never disappoints when it comes to love songs. After the success of âMineâ in 2018, he came back to the scene dropping âI Got You,â inspired by his then-girlfriend Renee (who even got her own self-titled song). If this song was a person, they would wear an âI Heart My S/Oâ shirt, all the time. Everyone loves hearing their partner hype them up, and the line âYouâre number one and Iâm cool with two if itâs next to youâ takes the cake.
- “baby I’m yours” by artic monkeys
-
In sharp contrast to most of the Arctic Monkeysâ darker and slower music, this is a hidden gem in their discography. The song feels like being serenaded by a barbershop quartet on a lovely afternoon in Italy. You need to add âPlay âBaby Iâm Yoursâ and dance with my lover in an empty parking lotâ to your bucket list. This song is deserving of a romantic dance, even if you have two left feet.Â
- “crush on you” by soul fro
-
I am a huge sucker for happy indie music, and this one was easily a favorite. The song is a duet, and the vocals donât feel like they match at all, but the harmonies are heavenly. The best part about love is that it always starts with a crush, and this track will leave you smiling and blushing like that one middle school crush did. Not to mention, who can resist a ukulele moment?
- “sweet nothing” by taylor swift
-
This song is runner-up (“Lover – First Dance Remix” is No. 1) to be the first dance song at my wedding. I have gone so far as to say this is the perfect love song. Itâs with good reason this song was first on my 2022 Spotify Wrapped with 1,382 listens (the song was released in October). True love is content with nothing more than our authentic selves, and amidst all the noise and drama online, itâs a relief to go home to someone who expects nothing more from you than just you. Everyone deserves to find their Joe Alwyn one day.
- “yo love” by vince staples
-
Mellow R&B love songs are top-tier. This song represents a ride-or-die kind of love, a Bonnie and Clyde type of bond. Although this track is very laid back and chill, the lyrics show a fiercely loyal love that would rather go against everything than lose the other person. This is what âHim & Iâ by G-Eazy and Halsey wish they were.
- “kinfolks” by sam hunt
-
I had to give my country girls some love too. When Sam Hunt is not writing banger heartbreak anthems about his ex, he is dropping banger love songs as well. Thereâs nothing as intimate as getting to know someoneâs past and the special people in their life, and this song feels like hearing âI wanna introduce you to my parents,â and not having your stomach sink. No genre does love like country does.
Whether youâre single, in a situationship or in a happy relationship, love songs never get old, so add these to your playlist.
