College can be tough, especially for those doing multiple things such as sports, band/choir, or any other extracurricular activity. As the weekend begins to start, the pile upon piles of homework and essays start as well. Luckily, here are some tips and motivation to say “Let’s take a break.”

The first thing I do is take a nice relaxing shower, apply a face mask right after, and throw on a comfy robe plus my fuzziest pair of slippers. After that, I grab my planner and begin to write my to-do list and organize when my assignments are due. This usually takes about 10-15 minutes to do, after that, I rinse my mask off and apply my 10-step skincare routine. Not only is this a way to wind down after a long week, but it can help keep you on top of things and have better time management.

Another thing I think helps to destress is making a cup of your favorite hot drink. Since it’s almost the season of Fall, I recommend apple cider, then grab a book ( could be either one for college leisure reading, and read for a little bit. When it’s evening, I usually brew a cup of lavender tea with honey in it.

Sometimes, when the weather is not bad, I like to go for walks. The college I attend has a beautiful park down the street with a huge garden. There is also a farmers market as well downtown. Personally, going there on a Saturday morning is amazing! The multiple vendors with colorful fruits and vegetables are a nice sight to see.

Typically, when it comes to destressing, I usually do it by myself, but it is totally okay to do a group self-care day with your friends or roommates, which leads me to another self-care tip: have a movie and nail painting session with your gals including comfy pajamas and your favorite snacks!
