Trader Joe’s Brings Their A Game: 6 Hot New Products

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Wash U chapter.

We all know good old Trader Joe is the man when it comes to ridiculously tasty and inexpensive snacks. As of late, he’s been killing it with tons of new additions that almost seem too good to be true. Whether you’re looking for sweet or salty, snacktime or mealtime, try stocking your kitchen with these 6 hot new products:

1. Cookie Butter Ice Cream: I was lucky enough to stumble upon a sample of this unreal concoction when I was shopping at the local store. I’m assuming you’ve all had cookie butter, but if you haven’t, you should first question your purpose in life and then go immediately to Trader Joe’s to pick up a jar. It’s made of Italian speculoos cookies, which are somewhat of a mixture between gingerbread and shortbread, with some added ingredients that make it the most ridiculously delicious cookie in the world.

2. Quinoa Cowboy Veggie Burgers: For all my vegetarian homies out there, pick up a box of these frozen patties for a fast and easy dinner. Made with black beans and corn, they pair perfectly with your favorite salsa or guac.

3. Potato Chips with South African Style Seasoning: Reminiscent of the South African style barbeque, or braai, these chips hit you with smoky paprika, chili, garlic, and basil. Pick up a bag for only $2.29 and throw some burgers on the grill before it gets too chilly.

4. More Than a Mouthful Trek Mix: This trail mix helps me to work through the dilemma I face everyday: sweet VS salty. Dried cranberries, roasted dark chocolate-covered almonds, roasted and salted pumpkin seeds, and pretzel bites with a Greek yogurt-esque coating. Oh, did I mention those chocolate-covered almonds are sprinkled with both salt and sugar? You can actually buy these almonds separately as well if you’re into that, and let’s be real- who wouldn’t be?

5. Cowgirl Bark: Let me lay this down for you: white chocolate base, crisp rice, gingersnaps, cranberries, almonds, peanuts, and pretzels. Is this real life? Yes, it is, and it sounds like the perfect addition to a girl’s night, if you ask me.

6. Sweet Chili Chèvre: Pair this spicy, savory goat cheese with crackers, warm toasts or veggies for the ideal appetizer. I’m a big fan of goat cheese and sweet chili seems to be so in right now. Per usual, Trader Joe’s hit the nail on the head.
