Lately, I have been making my goal to focus more on myself, and to make myself a priority. I have a tendency to give my all to everyone else, and not leave any energy or time to take care of myself. And on top of that, I am at a point in my life where I am really trying to establish who I am, and feel more empowered in myself. I have definitely made some adult decisions to propel myself to where and who I want to be, but what a better way to turn a new leaf than a mini makeover? If you’re looking to get a new look to match your new attitude, here I some things I’m doing in my mini makeover!

Retail Therapy

Now, I am not saying to go break the bank and buy a new wardrobe…unless that’s your goal. I just spent a little extra cash to freshen up my closet, and get a few new pieces to add to my collection. I also used it as an opportunity to buy some things that were out of my normal box and I have been loving the changes.

            New specs

One thing that I actually did was update my glasses. This seems super small, but I am in love with them. They switched up my style a bit and I have yet to put my contacts back in. Just having a little bit of that change makes me more confident.

            Change is in the hair

This one is huge for me. I have not had a haircut since I shaved my head back in 2015, and my first one is scheduled in a couple weeks. And on top of that, I am updated the color, which I have never done before! I cannot wait to see my new look.

            Pamper yourself

I am taking the time to give myself time to relax and take care of myself mentally, which is doing wonders for me and my stress level, also something different in style for me. I count this as part of my makeover because I feel brighter when I take care of myself.

            Do it for you.

Find what you want to update in your life and go do it! You’d be surprised about how much the little things can impact how you look at yourself. I am still in the process of my mini makeover, as to not rush decisions and a little at a time makes it not so intimidating and drastic. Who knows maybe tattoo number 2 is next, sorry mom! Or something else like getting a manicure. Whatever makes you smile when you see yourself in the mirror.
